Women of the Week

It’s now May and stakes are high as we head towards season finales. Who are our latest Women of the Week picks? Read on to find out!

Nominated by Ange: Barrett Doss as Victoria ‘Vic’ Hughes on Station 19

Is there a rule against nominating the same person two weeks in a row because Barrett Doss totally broke my heart in this week’s Station 19! Following the death of Chief Ripley last week, this week we see Hughes return to work ready to move on. She spends most of the episode in denial until best friend and colleague Montgomery forces her to confront her feelings and boy did she unleash them! The pain and frustration during her monologue how unlike Montgomery she didn’t get to call Ripley her spouse or even her partner because their relationship was a secret was really hard to watch because you could really feel those emotions radiating off her. Doss nailed it!

Nominated by Lisa: Katherine McNamara as Clary on Shadowhunters

I’d like to nominate Kat McNamara as Clary from Shadowhunters. The 2.5 hour series finale aired this week and she gave a hell of a performance! *spoiler alert* when she made the decision to create a rune against the Angels wishes to save humanity from her crazy brother, knowing that she would lose her connection to the Shadow world and her love Jace. In moments of Silence, you could see her inner turmoil, her fear, her strength and her sadness. It was beautiful and emotional. They did a great job closing out the series and she was a huge part of that. Well done Kat! #ShadowhuntersLegacy

I’ll second what Lisa said!

Ange is the Girl from Oz who travelled the States. Teen dramas, rom-comedies and superhero shows are her weakness. She also loves a good crime and medical drama and probably watches more TV than she can handle... You can contact her at ange@nicegirlstv.com.
