Women of the Week

Women of the Week

By  |

There was an array of strong women on our screens this past week. Read on to find which particular performances captivated us and why…

Nominated by Christie: Jodie Comer as Villanelle on Killing Eve

Jodi Comer! Killing Eve is back and she kills it on that show! (Pun unitended, ha!)

Nominated by Lexie: Natalie Morales as Abby on Abby’s

I’m nominating Natalie Morales for leading Abby’s and becoming the second bi Latina lead to steal my heart. Though I am terrified of both Abby and Rosa Diaz.

Nominated by Rueben: Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie on 9-1-1

This week’s episode of 9-1-1 focused on the recurring domestic violence storyline for new character Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) with her violent ex-husband making a move on her after pretending to be someone else, and making friends with Maddie’s new boyfriend Howie “Chimney” Han. Maddie’s ex not only critically injured Chimney, as he was walking toward Maddie’s apartment for their first big date, but he kidnapped Maddie. What ensued from there was a scary “will she make it out” scenario that left one man losing his life at the hands of Maddie’s ex, and Maddie not giving up in her attempt to get away from her ex for good. In the end her ex ended up dead and Jennifer’s performance throughout that ordeal was incredible to watch.
