Women of the Week

By  |

From comedy to drama, our latest Women of the Week picks span different genres. Read on to find out who we’re applauding this week!

Nominated by Leah: Catherine O’Hara as Moira Rose on Schitt’s Creek

She is funny, downright brilliant, every week, but this week she was spectacular. When tasked with babysitting Roland Jr. Moira was even more Moira than ever before. The facial expressions, the accent, the whole look was the most amazing thing to watch. Not too many things will ever be funnier then watching Moira babysit.

Nominated by Ange: Samantha Logan as Olivia Baker on All American

This week’s episode of All American flashed back to a year ago when Olivia was spiralling out of control with pills and partying, ultimately leading to her overdose. Juxtaposed against the present day where the feelings of neglect by her family are resurfacing on the eve of her one year sobriety, kudos to Samantha Logan for making me think I was watching two different people. I really believed and felt Olivia’s conflict to not give into temptation. The scenes where she shares her struggles with best friend Layla and then with her family were Logan’s best work in the series so far.
