My Top 10 TV Choices for October
Fall is definitely here with lots of programming options on the small screen, including plenty of returning dramas, new dramas and summer shows coming to an end. October also marks the start of holiday movies on cable.
So, after going through the long list of what October TV has in store, I’ve picked my top 10 choices.
THEY’RE BACK
The following dramas are back with new seasons:
Frankie Drake Mysteries on Ovation at 7 PM on October 2
The Equalizer and NCIS: Los Angeles on CBS at 8 and 9 PM respectively
The Blacklist on NBC at 8 PM on October 21
And, the second half of the first season of Leverage: Redemption will air online on IMDbTV on October 8.
COMING TO AN END
The following summer streaming dramas are coming to an end:
What If…? will air on Disney+ on October 6
Titans will air on HBO Max on October 21
MOVIES, MOVIES, MOVIES
The upcoming Broadway play Diana: The Musical [that was put on hold due to the pandemic] will actually make its small screen debut on Netflix on October 1. It will tell the story of the beloved figure, as she finds herself thrust into the global spotlight after her engagement to Prince Charles and struggles to navigate her way within the rigid structure of the royal family. Trapped in a loveless marriage, Diana fights to find her voice.
The Hallmark Channel movie South Beach Love, part of the network’s Fall Harvest, will debut at 9 PM on October 9, starring Taylor Cole and William Levy in a story about rival quinceañeras, Cuban cooking, friendship, family ties and, of course, romance.
And, as part of Countdown to Christmas on the Hallmark Channel, the one movie I am most eager to watch is Coyote Creek Christmas because it’ll star my favorite hunk Ryan Paevey (and Pretty Little Liars alum Janel Parrish).
Our full TV calendar for October, covering dramas, specials and made-for-TV movies, went live yesterday. Make sure to check it out, letting us know your top 10 to watch.
