My Top Choices for November TV

By  |

With the holidays fast approaching, the TV landscape is becoming overly cluttered with holiday themed episodes of TV shows and made-for-TV movies galore. In fact, it’s nearly impossible to keep them all straight, let alone keep track of them all.

Out of the 140 (plus) holiday movies that will air this season (which basically started this past weekend), I’ve picked out my top 8 along with a few other, non-holiday-themed movies that will air this month. And then there are some dramas that will be back with new seasons, a finale that I can’t wait to see and the debut of a much-touted new series.

So, let’s get this list of my top choices for November TV underway:

THE NON-HOLIDAY-THEMED MOVIES

Enola Holmes 2 will debut on November 4 on Netflix. Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill are back as Enola and her big brother Sherlock in a story that finds Enola following in her famous brother’s footsteps, opening her own detective agency.

Slumberland on November 18 on Netflix. Jason Momoa stars in a story set in a dreamworld where a young girl works with an outlaw to see her late father again.

Disenchanted will debut on Disney+ on November 18. Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey are back as Giselle and Robert, 15 years after the box office movie Enchanted. James Marsden and Idina Menzel are back too, and Maya Rudolph joins in as a local queen bee who sets Giselle’s world into a tailspin.

BACK FOR ANOTHER SEASON

The following dramas will be back for a new season throughout November:

Titans on HBO Max on November 3
Manifest on Netflix on November 3
The Crown on Netflix on November 9
Yellowstone on Paramount Network on November 13
Leverage: Redemption on November 16 on Freevee (formerly IMDbTV)

SAYING FAREWELL (FOR NOW)

Miss Scarlet and the Duke will be coming to an end on November 20 on PBS

WELCOME TO THE PLAYGROUND

The one extremely non-holiday drama that is set to debut is the small screen adaptation Wednesday, based on the character from The Addams Family. It is set to air on Netflix on November 23.

Jenna Ortega stars in the title role, finding Wednesday Addams going to Nevermore Academy where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago – all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships of the strange and diverse student body. The ensemble cast includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Jamie McShane, Gwendoline Christie and Thora Birch along with Christina Ricci (who played the title role in the box office movie).

HOLIDAY MOVIES

The following are my top choices of the holiday movies that I will be watching throughout November:

A Magical Christmas Village on November 4 on the Hallmark Channel, starring Alison Sweeney and Luke Macfarlane (in his last movie for the network)

Lights, Camera, Christmas! on November 5 on the Hallmark Channel, starring Kimberley Sustad.

A Country Christmas Harmony on November 18 on Lifetime, starring Brooke Elliott and Brandon Quinn

Three Wise Men and a Baby on November 19 on the Hallmark Channel, starring Paul Campbell, Tyler Hynes and Andrew Walker

Christmas at the Drive-In on November 25 on Great American Family, starring Danica McKellar and Neal Bledsoe

Haul Out the Holly on November 26 on the Hallmark Channel, starring Lacey Chabert and Wes Brown

A Christmas Cookie Catastrophe on November 27 on the Hallmark Channel, starring Rachel Boston and Victor Webster

A Christmas Spark on November 27 on Lifetime, starring Jane Seymour and Joe Lando

Our full November calendar will be posted later this week so you can check out all the viewing options then.

Some of her current favorite TV shows are Outlander, Sweet Magnolias, Wednesday, The Mandalorian, The Equalizer, Fire Country, Miss Scarlet, Hudson & Rex, SkyMed, The Rookie, Cobra Kai, Virgin River, The Witcher, Leverage: Redemption and School Spirits. She is looking forward to the long-awaited return of Bridgerton, is curious about the debut of Orphan Black: Echoes and the 3rd and final season of Sweet Tooth coming in June, and the season finales of the abbreviated 2023-2024 TV season.
