NICE BOY OF THE WEEK: Luke Guldan

Our Nice Boy this week is Luke Guldan. He can be seen on one of our favorite shows The Good Place so we jumped at the chance to chat with him.

1. The Good Place: What a great show and you get to come in and stir things up! How was it working with Kristen Bell and Ted Danson?
It was a blessing! Both Kristen and Ted were very welcoming and encouraging from the first day on set. It was a great opportunity to work alongside them and to get a glimpse into how they approach the work.

2. What can you tell us about your character?
Chris is Eleanor’s (Kristen Bell) soulmate. He’s a great guy, honest. He’s comfortable in his own skin, sensitive but strong, and enjoys exercise!

3. Magazines, theater and movies… oh my! You do a little bit of everything. I don’t suppose you sing too?
Actually, I love to sing, just not well. One time in New York, I was pulled off the street to randomly audition for a musical. I thought it was a joke but I ended up getting ushered into a room with about 15 of the creatives casting the theatrical version of “GIANT”. They insisted I knew at least one song and then cued up “Happy Birthday” after I only ended up knowing five words of “Luck Be A Lady”!

4. Do you have a favorite project you wish more people knew about?
I worked on a film called “ADDicted” about a college student’s struggle with Attention Deficit Disorder and suicide, which was based on true events. According to the American College Health Association (ACHA) the suicide rate among young adults, ages 15-24, has tripled since the 1950s and suicide is currently the second most common cause of death among college students. It’s such an important topic that I feel isn’t being discussed enough.

5. Upcoming projects: what do you have in the works that we can look forward to?
I’m about to start working on a project Linda Yellen is directing!

6. Charity: favorite charity you support and why?
Do Good Bus. It gives individuals access to causes in their community like small disaster relief, homeless issues, helping kids and animals, or improving your neighborhood. It is a really easy way to get involved and find out about needs in your community. You can find more information on their website here.
