April TV Calendar

The following list provides the dates of the new and returning cable dramas as well as mini-series and made-for-TV movies that will air during April:

April 2 – The season finale of Justified will air on FX at 10 PM

April 3 – The DirecTV drama Rogue will debut at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: Thandie Newton stars as a morally and emotionally-conflicted undercover detective who is tormented by the possibility that her own actions contributed to her son’s mysterious death. Kavan Smith (Stargate SG-1) and Marton Csokas (The Bourne Supremacy) also stars.

April 3 – The BBC America 2-part mini-series Spies of Warsaw will debut at 9 PM

Mini-Series Synopsis: French and German intelligence operatives are locked in a life-and-death struggle in the espionage arena. At the French embassy, a decorated war hero of the 1914 war, Colonel Jean-Francois Mercier (David Tennant from Doctor Who), is sucked into a world of abduction, betrayal and international intrigue from the diplomatic salons to the back alleys of Warsaw. Mercier simultaneously finds himself in a passionate love affair with Anna (Janet Montgomery from Made in Jersey), a Parisian lawyer for the League of Nations. Their complicated love affair intensifies as German tanks drive through the Black Forest.

NOTE: The second part of this mini-series will air on April 10.

April 4 – The new NBC thriller Hannibal will debut at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: The series is a contemporary take on the characters from Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon novel that focuses on the fledgling relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and his mentor Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen).

April 6 – The Syfy movie Battledogs will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOSIS: When a werewolf virus threatens to decimate New York City – and the world — a rogue general uses the disease to create an army of super soldiers. The film stars Dennis Haysbert (The Unit), Craig Sheffer (One Tree Hill), Ernie Hudson (Miss Congeniality) and Kate Vernon (Battlestar Galactica).

April 7 – Mad Men will have its two-hour season premiere on AMC at 9 PM

NOTE: The show will be back next week in its regular timeslot of 10 PM.

April 8 – Being Human will air its season finale on Syfy at 9 PM

April 8 – The season finale of The Carrie Diaries will air on The CW at 8 PM

April 8 – Monday Mornings will air its season finale on TNT at 10 PM

April 9 – New episodes of Hart of Dixie will be back starting tonight on The CW at 8 PM

April 12 – The new Starz drama Da Vinci’s Demons will debut at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: This historical fantasy tells the “untold” story of a young Leonardo da Vinci (Tom Riley from Lost in Austen), the world’s greatest genius, during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence. As a 25-year old artist, inventor, swordsman, lover, dreamer and idealist, he struggles to live within the confines of his own reality and time as he begins to not only see the future, but invent it. The cast includes Lara Pulver (Sherlock) and Laura Haddock (Upstairs Downstairs).

April 12 – The series finale of Spartacus: War of the Damned will air on Starz on 9 PM

April 12 and April 13 – The Reelz Channel mini-series Eve of Destruction will air on both nights at 8 PM

Mini-Series Synopsis: When two scientists attempt to discover unlimited energy, their experiment is sabotaged by eco-terrorists. The result is a dark energy black hole that could destroy the planet. The film stars Steven Weber (Wings), Christina Cox (Blood Ties) and Treat Williams (White Collar and Everwood).

April 13 – The Lifetime made-for-TV movie Stalkers will air at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Drea de Matteo (The Sopranos), Mena Suvari (American Beauty) and Jodi Lyn O’Keefe (Prison Break) will star in this movie about a tough hot-headed cop with a troubled past who teams up with a polished, politically savvy Assistant District Attorney to take down a dangerous stalker.

April 14 – A new Once Upon a Time special will air on ABC at 8 PM

REVISED: April 14 – The Borgias returns to Showtime for an all-new season at 10 PM

April 15 – The new Syfy series Defiance will debut at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: This series is set in the near future in an exotically transformed planet Earth, its landscapes permanently altered following the sudden — and tumultuous — arrival of seven unique alien races. A newly-formed civilization of humans and aliens must learn to co-exist peacefully. The series stars Grant Bowler (True Blood), Julie Benz (Angel), Stephanie Leonidas (Whitechapel), Tony Curran (Underworld Evolution), Jaime Murray (Warehouse 13), Graham Greene, Mia Kirshner (The Vampire Diaries) and Fionnula Flanagan.

April 15 – The final two episodes of Dallas will air on TNT starting at 9 PM

April 16 – Awkward. will return to MTV with a new season, starting with back-to-back episodes at 10 PM and 10:30 PM

April 17 – Southland will air its season finale on TNT at 10 PM

April 18 – The next new episodes of The Vampire Diaries and Beauty And the Beast will air on The CW at 8 and 9 PM respectively

April 19 – The entire 13-episode new Netflix series called Hemlock Grove will debut online today

Online Series Synopsis: This online series is a gripping tale of murder, mystery and monsters set in a ravaged Pennsylvania steel town that starts with the body of a young girl, mangled and murdered in the shadow of the former Godfrey steel mill. Some suspect an escapee from the White Tower, a biotech facility owned by the former steel magnates. Others believe the killer could be Peter, a 17-year-old Gypsy kid (Landon Liboiron from Terra Nova) from the wrong side of the tracks, who tells his classmates he’s a werewolf. Or it could be Roman (Bill Skarsgard, brother of Alexander Skarsgard from True Blood), the arrogant Godfrey scion, whose sister Shelley is disturbingly deformed and whose mother, Olivia (Famke Janssen from the X-Men franchise), the otherworldly beautiful and controlling grand dame of Hemlock Grove.

April 20 – The Hallmark Movie Channel film After All These Years will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Audrey Brandon (Wendie Malick from Hot in Cleveland) has just celebrated her 30th anniversary with her “perfect” husband, Michael (Barclay Hope from The Killing), when he leaves her for a younger woman. Soon after, Audrey is shocked to find Michael murdered on her kitchen floor. When Audrey is named as the primary suspect, she becomes a fugitive on the hunt for the real killer. With some help along the way from best friends Anita (Andrea Martin from My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Phyllis (Martha Burns), former student J.J. (Matt Ward from Red Riding Hood) and former love David (Gregory Harrison), Audrey investigates the case to clear her name.

April 20 – The Lifetime movie Call Me Crazy: A Five Film will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: This film includes an all-star cast, focusing on the five interwoven stories of powerful relationships built on hope and triumph when dealing with a loved ones struggle with mental illness. The cast includes Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls and Smash), Melissa Leo (The Fighter), Octavia Spencer (The Help), Sarah Hyland (Modern Family), Sofia Vassilieva (Medium), Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect), Jason Ritter (Parenthood), Ernie Hudson (Oz), Jean Smart, Laura Dern (Enlightened), Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help), Lea Thompson (Switched at Birth), Melanie Griffith, Bonnie Hunt and Ashley Judd (Missing).

April 20 – The HBO film Mary and Martha will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Oscar winner Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby and Boys Don’t Cry) and Oscar nominee Brenda Blethyn (Little Voices) will star in the story of two mothers who find a way to make a difference, one child at a time. Swank will play an American interior designer who takes her little boy on an extended trip to Africa while Blethyn is an English housewife whose own son heads to Africa as a volunteer. When malaria strikes, the lives of these very different women change forever. They forge a deep friendship and embark on an epic journey of self-discovery to Africa, dedicating themselves to the cause of malaria prevention. The cast includes Sam Claflin (the upcoming Hunger Games sequel), Frank Grillo (End of Watch and The Gates) and James Woods (Too Big to Fail).

April 21 – The 3-part murder mystery The Bletchley Circle mini-series will debut on PBS at 10 PM

Mini-Series Synopsis: The mini follows Susan, Millie, Lucy and Jean, ordinary women with extraordinary ability to break codes, a skill honed during World War II when they worked undercover at Bletchley Park, site of the United Kingdom’s main decryption establishment. Now, in 1952, the four have returned to civilian life, keeping their intelligence work secret from all, including family and friends. But, a series of ghastly murders targeting women reunites the team as they set out to decode the pattern behind the crimes.

NOTE: This mini-series will air each Sunday through May 5.

April 21 – The Hallmark Hall of Fame movie Remember Sunday will air on ABC at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) will star as down-on-her-luck waitress Molly, who meets jewelry store clerk Gus (Zachary Levi from Chuck), but complications ensue thanks to Gus’s memory problems: a brain aneurysm that gives him a blank slate the second his alarm clock wakes him up each day.

April 21 – Lovestruck: The Musical will debut on ABC Family at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The film tells the story of Harper (Jane Seymour), one of the best dancers Broadway has ever seen; but an injury caused her to leave the spotlight, becoming a choreographer and raising her daughter Mirabella (Sara Paxton). When Mirabella, the star of Harper’s next big production, decides to quit the show to get married abroad, her mother is determined to put a stop to the wedding and show Mirabella that she cannot give up her career for love. After the long flight to the Italian wedding site, Harper takes a swig from a strange bottle that is supposed to dull the pain of an old dance injury. Instead, the elixir magically changes Harper to be 30 years younger. Harper’s younger appearance (Chelsea Kane) allows her to secretly infiltrate the wedding – only to confront a huge obstacle in Mirabella’s father, Ryan (Tom Wopat), who immediately recognizes his ex-wife. After he too experiences the reverse-aging effects of the elixir (Drew Seeley plays Young Ryan), Ryan teams with Harper to reverse the damage she’s done to Mirabella and Marco’s relationship, hopefully in time to save the wedding.

April 21 – Once Upon a Time will be back with all new episodes on ABC at 8 PM

April 22 – The season finale of Lost Girl will air at 10 PM on Syfy

April 22 – The Sundance Channel mini-series Rectify will debut at 10 PM

Mini-Series Synopsis: Daniel Holden (Aden Young from The Starter Wife) must put his life back together after serving 19 years on Georgia’s Death Row before DNA evidence calls his conviction into question. The cast includes Abigail Spencer (Mad Men), Clayne Crawford (The Glades), Hal Holbrook and Adelaide Clemens (the upcoming The Great Gatsby).

April 24 – Arrow and Supernatural will be back on The CW at 8 and 9 PM respectively

April 25 – Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal will both be back on ABC with all new episodes at 9 and 10 PM respectively

April 26 – The season finale of Touch will air on FOX at 9 PM

April 27 – The Syfy movie Stonados will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Paul Johanssen, William B. Davis and Thea Gill star in this disaster movie about a freak weather system which hurls deadly boulders onto Boston.

April 28 – The season finale of The Good Wife will air on CBS on 9 PM

April 28 – The final episode of the History Channel mini-series Vikings will air at 10 PM

April 28 – Revenge will be back with new episodes on ABC at 9 PM

April 29 – Bones and The Following will air their season finales on FOX at 8 and 9 PM

April 29 – The final episodes of the comedy The Big C called The Big C: Hereafter will air in four one-hour installments on Showtime at 10 PM

April 29- Warehouse 13 will be back with more new episodes of its current season on Syfy at 10 PM
