My Top 10 TV Choices for July
We are at the halfway point, already, for 2026 with July TV starting tomorrow.
While there are a lot of TV viewing options on both linear TV and streaming services, I have taken that long list and whittled it down to my top 10 choices for the month.
Those choices are below:
MOVIES (OR MORE SPECIFICALLY MOVIE)
While there are just a little over half a dozen movies airing during July, including the annual Christmas in July movies over on Hallmark Channel, there is only one movie that I am eager to see in July.
That movie is Enola Holmes 3 over on Netflix, which will be debuting tomorrow, July 1. Millie Bobby Brown returns as Enola Holmes, who is preparing to marry Lord Tewkesbury when her plans are abruptly interrupted by the shocking news that her older brother Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) has been kidnapped. Racing against time, Enola travels to Malta for what promises to be her most complex and dangerous case yet — a conspiracy that intertwines personal stakes, political intrigue, and high-stakes action.
NEW DRAMAS
Half of the new dramas that are set to debut throughout July have caught my attention and they include:
The Five Star Weekend on Peacock starting on July 9. Jennifer Garner stars as Hollis Shaw, a famed cook and best-selling author known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste and warm demeanor, who suffers a devastating loss. Unable to move forward, an unexpected death starts to expose the cracks in Hollis’s picture-perfect life – her strained marriage, her complicated relationship with her daughter and her growing pursuit of validation from her fans. In an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her twenties, thirties, and one surprise fifth starThe reboot of Little House on the Prairie will debut on Netflix on July 9. The premise is basically the same as Charles and Caroline Ingalls set out to venture West with their daughters, Laura and Mary (sans little Carrie) and how their life and struggles on the Western frontier are showcased.
Ride or Die on Amazon Prime starting on July 15. Best friends Debbie Claybourne and Judith Burton (Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham) are forced on the run when Debbie discovers Judith isn’t a forensic accountant, but actually an international assassin. With a mysterious figure chasing them, and Debbie’s husband involved in something deeply corrupt, it’s a race against time and a road trip across Europe to untangle the truth and stay alive.
Paris Is Always a Good Idea on Hallmark+ starting on July 30. Lacey Chabert stars a career-driven nonprofit executive Chelsea Martin, who travels to Paris with her confident rival-turned-ally, Jason Knightly (Scott Michael Foster) to secure a major donation but a heartfelt message from her late mother sends her on an unexpected journey to reconnect with the three great loves she once left behind.
