A Million Little Things: Someday
On this week’s A Million Little Things:
On the eve of the new restaurant opening, Delilah tracks down an expert to help with the last-minute details; Regina struggles with her overbearing mother who brings up disturbing details of her past.
Check out what Cay and Rueben had to say about the episode:
Cay:
Whoa, wasn’t expecting the 3 month time jump! I appreciate that Gary is worried about Maggie, but he’s been worried about her for months. He is usually my favorite character, but he was annoying in this episode. Why does he care about Eddie’s sex life so much? Why can’t he let Eddie sort things out on his own? Not everyone needs a rebound like Gary did with Ashley.
Speaking of Eddie, I wonder how he’ll handle it when he finds out that Delilah may have moved on? He seems to be in the same place, but she clearly isn’t.
The reveal about Regina’s uncle helped to explain all the animosity between her and her mother. But I don’t quite understand why she is willing to jeopardize the restaurant. She could always pay the money to a shelter at a later date when the restaurant can cover it. I’m glad that she told Rome right away so that is no longer a secret between them. Wonder what will happen when he goes back on the meds?
What is the deal with Barbara Morgan – what about his history with her traumatized Jon and potentially committed to his suicide while also causing her to essential go into hiding?
Rueben:
Totally agree, Cay. That time jump was a bit unexpected, but since there are so few episodes left maybe they wanted Delilah to be closer to giving birth for a bigger cliffhanger-ish ending??
Given the way Regina reacted when her mother mentioned her uncle, I just knew he must have done something to her in her past. I felt bad that she didn’t get to confront him and give herself some closure, but like you, I have to wonder if she’s not jumping the gun a little on wanting to give the money away – not because it’s not a worthy cause – but, as you suggested, wait until the restaurant is on its feet – how many restaurants fail every year, after all. Just because Delilah has connections with big restauranteur Andrew doesn’t mean that they will succeed; and I have to wonder can we trust Andrew. Maybe I’m pulling a Gary right now, but I don’t know if I completely trust him.
Gary really was off in this episode, wasn’t her? We have to owe that behavior to his worry over Maggie, though, at least to a certain extent. I think he went a bit over the top, however. Eddie’s sex life is NOT his business; and protecting Delilah from Andrew; well, she’s a big girl and can deal with things just fine. At least he admitted what was the underlying cause of his overly protective ways with everyone.
Agreed, about Barbara Morgan too? What is in their past – could it be the guy who called her mom? Could that be Jon’s child? I’ve thought she Barbara Morgan was brought up that she was a past girlfriend, and as soon as I heard that guy say “mom,” the light bulb went off over my head – ding, ding, ding – is that Jon’s son?
And just an aside, I have to admit that “Downtown” sing-along in the car was kinda sweet, don’t you think? And we got that glimpse of Regina as a young girl both at the hospital and at the restaurant – the show’s way of symbolism for Regina’s moving on from her pre-teen trauma?
