A Million Little Things: Twelve seconds

By  |

On this week’s A Million Little Things:

Delilah struggles to find a way to keep the house, while Ashley has a secret meeting with someone who she thinks may be able to help; and Maggie receives news about her treatment.

Here are our thoughts:

Cay:

We finally got some answers!!! And Ashley finally came clean (maybe)! I’m glad to find out that she didn’t have anything super nefarious going on, but why the heck did she wait so long to tell Delilah? What did she think waiting would accomplish? And what is up with her just taking off to Spain?

What a stressful position to put Delilah in, having to decide whether to sell or to wait for the vote and then Jeri tells her they have the votes…and they don’t. Was selling them enough to save the house and keep the family out of financial disaster? Why was it so important to Jon to keep that apartment that Delilah has now sold? The letter said he felt guilty about something that happened before he met Delilah – it has to be related to the apartment. It’s cool how that painting at the chemo center gives them their first clue about Barbara Morgan. I feel like there were probably other clues in the apartment, though, but maybe they will come back to it next week. On a side note, the subway plot is so New York…but it doesn’t feel very Boston (I live in the Boston metro area).

I had gotten the impression that Maggie had metastatic breast cancer, but it seems that is actually just one tumor (where?). I’m glad that Sophie got her to finally reach out to her parents. And I loved her pink wig.

I’m feeling pretty bad for Katherine right now – she’s been so great helping Delilah and she finally feels like she’s ready to move on from Eddie and then things ended badly. I do think that she overreacted a bit when it comes to the discussion with her new love interest over being made partner. He should have told her the night before, but was it really that big a deal? It seems that she’s still a bit bitter about having to turn down being a partner to be able to spend more time with Theo.

Rueben:

I agree, Cay, about Katherine over-reacting to Hunter telling her he made (and accepted) being partner. She was clearly happy when she turned down the partner offer so why does it matter so much now. That just didn’t make sense to me. I’m also glad that Eddie suggested that they finally agreed to get a divorce. They’re obviously not going to get back together, and being in limbo like that wasn’t good for any of them.

How funny was the whole wedding album story? Sure, it was silly; but quite entertaining seeing Bronson Pinchot play the part of the overbearing photographer, and Rome not taking his crap. But shame on Bronson’s character for pushing off Regina to talk “to the man.” C’mon!!

I found the driving lesson with Sophie, Rome and Gary quite funny too. But it was so much better when Maggie gave the lesson. And, how about that little heart-to-heart talk Sophie gave Maggie. Good on her for making Maggie call her folks to tell them her cancer had returned. And I loved that Sophie was wearing a Def Leppard shirt. I, too, loved the pink wig.

I was moved when Delilah read Jon’s letter to the kids and we got his voice over through part of it. They finally have some closure; but I agree with you that I cannot understand why Ashley waited so long to give Delilah the letter. I can’t see how it made a difference hiding it for so long. I think it was very cowardly of her to take the tickets Jon obviously bought for her and just ran.

Finally we get a small clue into who Barbara Morgan is, but was she an old girlfriend from Jon’s days in college when he lived in that apartment? I really hope that the show continues to give us some insight into his past so that we aren’t hanging for too long.

Cay's family thinks her obsession with pop culture is "not normal". Normal is boring!
