October TV Calendar

The following list provides the dates of the dramas that will debut, return or end on the major and cable networks as well as on streaming services AND the made-for-TV movies and so much more that will air all throughout October:

October 1 – The new HBO drama War will debut at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: This high-stakes, legal drama follows the lives of London’s most powerful lawyers as firms Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne clash over a headline-grabbing legal battle, drawing ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren (Archie Renaux) into a ruthless world where ambition is currency, betrayal is strategy, and winning is everything. The main story will focus on the explosive divorce of British tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson (Dominic West) and international film star Carla Duval (Sienna Miller), as Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne stop at nothing to secure victory for their clients. The cast includes Celia Imrie.

October 1 – The second season of Blue Skies will premiere online on UP Faith & Family

October 1 – The 7-part limited series East of Eden will debut online on Netflix today

Show Synopsis: This modern interpretation of the Steinbeck masterpiece will explore the multigenerational saga of the Trask family, focusing new attention on its indelible antihero, Cathy Ames (Florence Pugh). The cast includes Ciaran Hinds, Martha Plimpton, Joseph Zada, Tracy Letts and Christopher Abbott.

October 1 – The first four episodes of the new Freeform drama Coven Academy will debut starting at 8 PM

Show Synopsis: In the haunted heart of New Orleans, this new thriller will follow three teenage witches (Malina Weissman, Ora Duplass and Jordan Leftwich) and their dangerously charming warlock peers at an elite magic boarding school where power is currency, secrets are lethal and attraction is a liability. Caught between ancient supernatural wars and forbidden love interests, the coven must decide how far they’re willing to go to protect their city – and themselves. The adults in that world will be played by Tiffany Thiessen, Devon Sawa, Keegan Connor Tracy and BJ Harrison.

NOTE: Coven Academy will be available to watch on Disney+ and Hulu starting tomorrow, October 2.

October 2 – The new AMC+ drama Kill Jackie will debut online today

Show Synopsis: Based on the novel by author Nick Harkaway, ex-cocaine dealer Jackie Price (Catherine Zeta-Jones) lives luxuriously selling art through tax schemes. After 20 years of anonymity, her peaceful life ends when The Seven Demons, elite hitmen, are hired to kill her. Daniel Ings and Christine Adams co-star.

October 2 – The new Netflix feature film Tyler Perry’s Doing Life will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: This romantic drama follows Anika (Naomi Baker), a single mother, and Carousel (Jay Reeves), a former inmate who once protected her during a prison riot. Their unexpected bond becomes a story of redemption, survival, and second chances. The cast includes Tamberla Perry, Karen Obilom, Jasmine Sargent, Lucky Johnson and Danielle Mone Truitt.

October 3 – The Hallmark Channel movie A Knight to Remember will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A statue of an English knight arrives in Chicago for an art exhibit. While cleaning the statue, museum conservator Emily impulsively kisses the statue, bringing him to life. The movie stars Julie Gonzalo and James Trevena.

October 4 – The season premieres of Marshals and Tracker will air on CBS at the special times of 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM respectively

October 4 – The finale of High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam will air on TNT at 9 PM

October 4 – The finale of Lanterns will air on HBO at 9 PM

October 4 – The finale of A Tale of Two Cities will air on MGM+ at 10 PM

October 5 – The season premieres of FBI and CIA will air on CBS on 8 PM and 9 PM respectively

October 5 – The reboot series Private Eyes: West Coast will debut on CW at 8 PM followed by the second season of Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent at 9 PM

Show Synopsis (Private Eyes: West Coast): This is a spin-off of the popular Canadian series that ran for five seasons with Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson reprising their roles as ex-Toronto private investigators Matt Shade and Angie Everett, making a fresh start in Victoria, BC, tackling new cases with a different circle of friends.

October 6 – The fourth season premiere of Reasonable Doubt will air online on Hulu today

October 6 – The 24th season premiere of NCIS will air at 8 PM followed by the debut of the new spin-off series NCIS: New York at 9 PM and the third season premiere of NCIS: Origins at 10 PM

Show Synopsis (NCIS: New York): Legendary NCIS Agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) returns to his hometown of New York City to their field office, partnering with roguish agent Nick Schaeffer (Scott Caan) and helping lead a new team as they are tasked with high-stakes missions to defend one of the most vital cities and ports in the world. The cast includes Jennifer Beals, Shane Harper, Jacqueline Byers and Devin Druid.

October 7 – The Apple TV drama Last Seen will air its finale online today

October 7 – The new small screen version of the classic Stephen King novel Carrie will debut online on Amazon Prime

Show Synopsis: Based on the iconic Stephen King novel, this version is a bold, timely and surprising reinvention of the classic coming of age story that follows misfit high schooler Carrie White (Summer H. Howell) who has spent her life hidden away inside the walls of her home with her fiercely protective mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). After her father’s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence. October 7 – The 12th season premiere of Chicago Med will air on NBC at 8 PM followed by the 15th season premiere of Chicago Med at 9 Pm and followed by Chicago P.D. at 10 PM

October 8 – The 4th season premiere of Elsbeth will air on CBS at 9 PM followed by the debut of the new drama Cupertino at 10 PM

Show Synopsis (Cupertino): This David vs. Goliath legal drama is set in the heart of Silicon Valley, following a lawyer (Mike Colter) who is being cheated out of his stock options by his former employer, a tech startup. Refusing to back down, he joins forces with another recently fired attorney (Rachel Keller) to represent those taken advantage of by the tech elite and help them fight back in a high-stakes battle against the Goliaths controlling Silicon Valley. The cast includes Busy Philipps, Joe Morton, Steven Pasquale and Renee Elise Goldsberry.

October 8 – The next three episodes of Coven Academy will air on Freeform at 9 PM

October 8 – The 28th season premiere of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will air on NBC at 9 PM followed by the 26th season premiere of Law & Order will air at 10 PM

October 9 – The Apple TV movie Matchbox: The Movie will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: When a group of former childhood friends (John Cena, Jessica Biel, Sam Richardson, Arturo Castro and Teyonah Parris) reconnect, their reunion takes a wild turn as they stumble upon a dangerous international plot—and must save the world. The cast includes Corey Stoll and Danai Gurira.

October 9 – The box office movie Disclosure Day will make its small screen debut online on Peacock

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? The movie includes Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell and Henry Lloyd-Hughes.

October 9 – The finale of Anna Pigeon will air on the USA Network at 10 PM

October 9 – The Netflix movie Animals will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Desperate to pay their son’s ransom, a mayoral candidate and his wife (Ben Affleck and Kerry Washington) resort to extreme measures, revealing dark secrets they never intended to bring to light. The cast includes Gillian Anderson, Steven Yeun, Adriana Paz and Ray Fisher.

October 9 – The second season premiere of Sheriff Country will air on CBS at 8 PM followed by the 5th season premiere of Fire Country at 9 PM followed by the second season premiere of Boston Blue at 10 PM

October 10 – The Hallmark Channel movie The Spirit of Halloween will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Everly Stone (Meghan Ory) is very firmly anti-Halloween. That is, until she is visited by three friendly yet spooky spirits who help her rediscover her true self and see what she’s been missing all along. Kevin McGarry co-stars.

October 11 – The MGM+ period piece drama Treasure Island will debut at 10 PM:

Show Synopsis: Jim Hawkins (Tom Sweet) discovers a treasure map, but his mother Bess’s (Hayley Atwell) actions put them both in danger. Aboard The Hispaniola, they navigate threats from pirate John Silver (David Oyelowo) and Agent Aaron Graham (Jack Huston) as alliances shift and survival hangs in the balance. Timer Capone also stars.

October 11 – The finales of The Marlow Murder Club, Marble Hall Murders and Trespasses will air on PBS at 8 PM, 9 PM and 10 PM respectively

October 12 – The new drama This Is Not a Murder Mystery will debut online on Acorn TV today

Show Synopsis: Set in England during the 1930s, world-renowned Surrealist artists, including young Dalí and Magritte, find themselves trapped in a lavish mansion with a mysterious serial killer on the loose and Scotland Yard on the case. But is everything what it seems? Starring Stephen Tompkinson, Pierre Gervais, Lauren Versnick, Jonathan Delaney Tynan, Florence Hall, Iñaki Mur and Donna Banya.

October 13 – The second season premiere of Ludwig will air online on Britbox today

October 13 – The finale of the new Agatha Christie modern-day version of Tommy & Tuppence will air online on Britbox today

October 14 – The new Disney+ Marvel-themed series VisionQuest will debut online today

Show Synopsis: Vision (Paul Bettany), rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y. (Orla Brady), E.D.I.T.H. (Emily Hampshire), J.A.R.V.I.S. (James D’Arcy), and the infamous Ultron (James Spader). October 15 – The fourth season of The Diplomat will premiere online on Netflix today

October 15 – The 10th season premiere of 9-1-1 will air on ABC at 8 PM followed by the second season premiere of 9-1-1: Nashville at 9 PM and then followed by the 23rd season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy at 10 PM

October 15 – The final three episodes of Coven Academy will air on Freeform started at 9 PM

October 16 – The Hallmark Channel gets its Countdown to Christmas started at 8 PM tonight with the new holiday movie Tis the Season for Setups

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Hyper organized single mom and party planner Lexi (Amanda Schull), her free-spirited mother June (Barbara Niven) and teen daughter Piper (Verity Marks) are set to spend Christmas at a local ski resort after Lexi is hired to organize their annual holiday party. Upon arrival she immediately butts heads with Ridge (Victor Webster), the ski instructor and son of the lodge’s owner, Dan (John B. Lowe). Despite not getting along from the get-go, Lexi and Ridge notice a spark between June and Dan and decide to set them up. Lexi and Ridge create a multitude of festive excursions – and excuses – to bring them together but thanks to creative machinations by June and Dan these outings keep turning into foursomes. In the days leading up to the Christmas party Lexi and Ridge’s attempt to pair up their parents brings them closer together and their merry matchmaking ends in surprising results.

October 16 – The Apple TV movie Tenzing will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The untold and inspiring tale of one of the most important mountain climbers in history who, with Edmund Hillary (Tom Hiddleston), became the first person to reach the summit of Mount Everest. The cast includes Willem Dafoe, Caitriona Balfe and Genden Phuntsok as Tenzing.

October 16 – The fourth season of Tulsa King will premiere online on Paramount+ today

October 16 – The box office movie The Death of Robin Hood will make its small screen debut online on HBO Max today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, Robin Hood (Hugh Jackman) finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. In the hands of a mysterious woman (Jodie Comer), he is offered a chance at salvation. Bill Skarsgard co-stars.

October 16 – The Amazon Prime movie Masterplan will debut online today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A master thief (Stanley Tucci) enlists two strangers (Victor Belmondo and Simona Tabasco) for a Louvre heist targeting the Mona Lisa, then reveals they’re his children and siblings who must cooperate to pull off history’s greatest art theft.

October 16 – The second season of the USA Network drama The Rainmaker will premiere at 10 PM

October 17 – The Hallmark Channel holiday movie Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: When ambitious freelance reporter Avery Clark (Lyndsy Fonseca) returns to Chicago to spend Christmas with her mom (Barbara Alyn Woods) and new stepdad (Khary Payton), she’s hoping for a little holiday downtime before her next assignment. October 18 – The Hallmark Channel holiday movie Mr. & Mrs. Christmas will debut at 8 PM

The cast includes Carrie-Anne Moss, Noah Reid, Clark Backo, Hudson Williams and Patrick Gilmore.

October 23 – The Hallmark Channel holiday movie Winter Wonderlanes will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Audrey Bell (Ashley Newbrough) is a globe-trotting pop-up restaurateur who returns home for Thanksgiving to the news that her late grandfather’s beloved bowling alley, Wonderlanes, will be sold. Audrey agrees to stay for one last festive season at Wonderlanes and decides to revive its iconic Winter Wonderlanes youth bowling tournament. To drum up publicity for the event, she reluctantly teams up with Jason Miller (Franco Lo Presti), a local news reporter and her high school boyfriend. Working side by side the embers of their past start flickering, rekindling feelings they thought they left behind. October 24 – The Hallmark Channel holiday movie Forgotten Holiday will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Kathryn Liu (Janel Parrish) is an antiques buyer for her father’s store and has been happily dating Rob Ashford (Daniel Lissing) for nearly a year. When he surprises her with a pre-Christmas proposal, her fear of a failed relationship sends her dashing away without giving him an answer. Heartbroken, as Rob drives to his sister’s house he has a car accident that leaves him without memories of the past year, including their relationship and his once-infectious love of Christmas. October 25 – The Hallmark Channel holiday movie What If Christmas will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Erin (Lori Loughlin) has always supported her heart surgeon husband, Adam’s (Tom Cavanagh) career by organizing the hospitals’ Christmas charity galas. However, when he moves to a new hospital, her help is no longer needed. Feeling lost and without a purpose back in New York City, her long-suppressed regrets over giving up her dream of pursuing fashion design start bubbling up. October 28 – The box office animated movie Minions & Monsters will make its small screen debut on Peacock today

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The seventh installment in the Despicable Me franchise and the third in the Minions prequel, this movie is set in 1920s Hollywood, telling the rambunctious, ridiculous and totally true story of how the Minions, led by Dick, conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created. Voices are provided by Pierre Coffin, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Bridges and Zoey Deutch.

October 29 – The second season of the Passionflix series The Black Dagger Brotherhood will premiere online today

October 29 – The finale of American Horror Story: 13 will air at 9 PM on FX

October 30 – The finale of Dark Matter will air online on Apple TV today

October 30 – The new drama Nocturne will debut online on Apple TV today

Show Synopsis: Ex-soldier Jonah Lynn (Liev Schreiber) leaves Philadelphia for a quiet life. When serial killer Jurek Walter (Stephen Graham) threatens his new home and family, Jonah must protect them, even as he sends his FBI agent daughter Saga to track the killer’s last victim. The cast includes Zazie Beetz, Chrissy Metz and Poorna Jagannathan.

October 30 – The second season premiere of Dexter: Resurrection will air online on Paramount+ today

October 30 – The Hallmark Channel holiday movie Who’s Coming for Christmas will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Having recently relocated, Julie (Rhiannon Fish) is setting up her new town using pieces she inherited from her late grandmother, including a beautiful dining room table she plans to use on Christmas Eve when she hosts dinner for the first time. Though she doesn’t have her guest list set just yet, Julie takes inspiration from her grandmother and has faith that her holiday table for eight will be filled. Julie’s warm, friendly nature leads her to quickly become part of the community and make friends, including her neighbor Mark (Jake Foy) and his young daughter Vanessa (Mila Morgan). Mark suggests that he and his family could join her, making Julie’s dream of dinner for eight come true. But when bad weather keeps them from making the trip it looks like it will be a silent night with just the three of them unless a small Christmas miracle – or series of miracles – fills her holiday table.

October 31 – The Hallmark Channel holiday movie Adopting St. Nick will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: After “adopting a grandparent” from a new retirement community for the holidays, Maren and her daughter Leah cross paths with program’s manager, Reid, and its suspiciously jolliest of residents. The movie stars Amy Groening and Michael Rady.
