DEADLY CLASS Roundtable: “Mirror People”

By  |

DEADLY CLASS this week has Saya and Marcus trying to survive an attack on the school when Saya’s past comes back to haunt her.

The Good

Leah: Saya kicking some serious ass. The fight choreography is amazing!  Also, I’m a fan of Saya and Marcus so these small bonding moments work for me. Oh and one more thing…I’m a fan of finding out about a characters past. The insight into Saya was interesting.

Roz: I love The Breakfast Club so that whole homage to a detention to make people stronger was my jam. From there it only got better, though, I love that it wasn’t just a bottle episode of them stuck in detention.

It’s also great to see Maria trying to get away from Chico with that American passport, but I don’t know what else will come of it.

Ange: Yep, I agree with both of you guys – Saya was seriously bad ass in this episode and I enjoyed learning more about her back story. I’m a sucker for a good homage too, so I was greatly amused by both The Breakfast Club homage and the Risky Business nod at the start of the episode. I also enjoyed seeing Willie and Maria interact. I want to be optimistic that she’ll escape from Chico, but let’s face it – he’s a jerk who always seems to be a step ahead so I don’t want to get my hopes up…

The Bad

Leah: Can Chico just be my something bad for all of time? He ditched them? What a jerk. Honestly – a big *&%$ jerk.

Roz:  I’m with you Leah. Chico is always the worst, and I don’t see how we’re going to change on mind on him when all of his actions only benefit himself. Billie’s home life is also such a crapfest that I get why he’s do manic and protective at Kings.

Ange: Jumping on the bandwagon – yep, Chico is always the worst. I also felt really bad for Billy and how terrible his home life is.

The Music

Roz:  “In Between Days” is always a strong choice.

Ange: Ah yes, you can’t go wrong with The Cure. I also thought the usage of Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years” was a great choice at the start of the episode.
