Women of the Week

By  |

As we head closer towards the end of the year, plenty of our favorite shows start to wind up before going on hiatus until the new year but not before leaving us with some standout performances. Read on to find out which performances impressed us on the small screen this past week…

Nominated by Roz: Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II on The Crown

I’m not even done with the premiere of The Crown, but let’s say Claire Foy for some quiet rage as she watches a ballerina who had caught Prince Philip’s eye for a start.

Nominated by Rueben: Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. & Jaimie Alexander as Jane Doe-Weller on Blindspot

How about the amazing take downs of the Kree by Daisy in Friday night’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Jane going gung-ho on a terrorist is a trailer on a movie studio lot in Blindspot. I wouldn’t want to be anyone who goes up against either of these ladies when they are in full “I’m gonna kick your ass mode.”

Nominated by Ange: Marina Squerciati as Kim Burgess on Chicago P.D.

Can we talk about how badass Kim Burgess from Chicago P.D. was this week? She seemed seemingly innocent undercover as Diana, a bored tennis club member trying to sweet talk a drug dealing bartender, but as soon she got the info she needed, the switch flipped and Burgess grabbed his arm and arrested him all within the blink of an eye! Then later in that episode she inconspicuously boarded a bus to catch a killer who minutes before had just shot his own cousin! When Intelligence boss Voight boarded the bus a few stops later, the bad guy new the jig was up and was about to pull out his gun when Burgess leaned over from behind and put her own gun to him before he could act. So badass!

Ange is the Girl from Oz who travelled the States. Teen dramas, rom-comedies and superhero shows are her weakness. She also loves a good crime and medical drama and probably watches more TV than she can handle... You can contact her at ange@nicegirlstv.com.
