THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: A View To Kill

By  |

The Hunter Games continue this week and things heat up! We have a dance, Abby returns, Jeremy is shirtless (yes please), Klaus captive in the living room, and the death of an original. Let’s get to it!

We begin with Stefan and Rebekah in bed after their hot love scene last week. He woke up, got dressed and tried to sneak out but Klaus was there when he opened the door. Busted! Klaus wanted to join forces against Kol (for the time being) because he had the white oak stake and Klaus’ daggers. Klaus wanted to get the last dagger from Rebekah so he could put Kol back in a box. Rebekah told Klaus to get lost, so he asked Stefan to talk to her. If they dagger Kol, Damon’s compulsion to kill Jeremy would be broken and they could continue the search for the cure.

Elena was at the house babysitting Jeremy and Matt who were playing video games. She called Bonnie and told her about the plan to kill Kol. Once he died and his bloodline followed, Jeremy’s Hunter’s Mark would be complete. Elena tried to wash her hands and got burned by the water. Bonnie had an idea why.

They were having an 80’s dance at the high school and Bonnie was blowing up balloons. She called her Dad, the Mayor, and found out he put vervain in the water supply, reinstated a curfew, and canceled all town events, including the dance. Dang! Bonnie’s Dad is a buzz kill. She told him that she has been doing good protecting the town and didn’t need him to interfere. She hung up and Kol was right there. He slammed her into the lockers and wanted to kill her because without her the hunt for the cure would be over. But Bonnie was too powerful for the original. She broke him down with her mind, balloons started popping and the locker doors started opening with papers flying everywhere. It was pretty impressive. Bonnie is not the witch to mess with! Kol fell to the ground in pain and Bonnie left.

Damon was still in the cellar at Casa de Salvatore. When Damon got up, Klaus was there to babysit him. Stefan told him to give Damon a vial of blood every few hours so he doesn’t die. Damon told Klaus that Stefan was still mad because he slept with Elena and Klaus told him that Stefan might have moved on because he saw Stefan sneaking out of Rebekah’s bedroom.

Elena called Stefan and told him that Kol tried to kill Bonnie, and how they plan to have Jeremy kill Kol. Bonnie thinks she can use her expression power to hold Kol down long enough for Jeremy to kill him. Stefan told her that Klaus and Rebekah would kill them if they went through with killing Kol. Elena’s solution to that was for Stefan to find the dagger and use it on Rebekah so she wouldn’t know. Stefan can’t do that because vampires die if they use the dagger on an original. So Matt will have to do it.

Elena called Kol and told him she wanted a truce (in the name of Silas of course). Lucky for her he was already outside of her house. She wrote on a board for Matt to help Stefan find the dagger, and for Jeremy to find Bonnie. With Elena’s approval, Jeremy invited him in and left. Kol entered asked for a drink. Elena noticed the white oak stake in his jacket when he put his iPod in his pocket.

Stefan stopped by Rebekah’s to let her know the dance was canceled. She asked him if he regretted their night together and he said no. She asked if he wanted it to happen again and he said maybe. Bow chicka wow wow! She wondered if he would sleep with her to get the dagger. She then talked about how she was missing another dance, so Stefan said they should still go. I love this new Stefan! I think I like what he looks like when he isn’t in love with Elena.

At the Gilbert’s, Elena asked Kol what he did for Klaus to dagger him. He told her Klaus didn’t need a reason. She told him she was willing to give up finding the cure if Kol agrees to leave Jeremy alone. Jeremy couldn’t find Bonnie so Elena was stalling the best could. Kol said he ran with witches in Africa, Haiti and in New Orleans over centuries and they told him about Silas. He would end the world if he resurfaced. Kol doesn’t want that to happen.

A View to a KillBonnie’s Dad took her phone and car keys, and that’s why Jeremy was unable to reach her. Her Dad is worried about her power so he called a family meeting. Jeremy showed up and told her that they needed her help because Kol was in his house. Her dad still wouldn’t let her leave so she used her powers and a light bulb broke. She tried to leave but was surprised when her mother was at the door. Wow! She wanted to know about Professor Shane and the crap he had been feeding her. Then she said Bonnie was done helping Elena Gilbert and Jeremy tried to stake her. Bonnie stopped him by reminding him that Abby was her mother and he calmed down and left. Bonnie told her parents about the cure and that she could save her mother if she helped find it. Abby grabbed her and said she needed to be saved and used some powder to knock her out.

Stefan and Rebekah broke in to the gym at school to have their dance. Matt was looking for the dagger so Stefan needed to keep her occupied. Stefan told her she would have loved the 80’s after giving her a little rundown of 80’s films. Then he asked her to dance. Rebekah wondered why he was so fun tonight and he told her that listening to 80’s music reminded him of his best friend Lexi. He didn’t sleep with her, but being with her made him feel like a better person. He didn’t think he would ever feel that way again, until he met Elena.  She told him that is why she won’t allow herself to care and he said she does care. Suddenly a balloon popped and startled Stefan. Rebekah told him she would protect him and showed him the dagger. Stefan sent Matt a text to come to the school.

Jeremy went home and Elena was alone. The doorbell rang and it was Kol (they were hoping it was Bonnie). He denied her request for a truce. Elena slammed the door, but it didn’t matter because he had already been invited in. Kol called Klaus and assumed that Klaus was involved in Elena’s plan to kill him. He told Klaus that he was going to kill Elena, rip off Jeremy’s arm and then come for Klaus. At that moment Elena fired an arrow and it hit Kol in the leg. Klaus had no idea what Stefan and Elena were planning so he asked Damon (who had no idea either, hello he was locked up in the cellar) who didn’t know anything. Klaus compelled him to stay in the cellar and left to find out what Elena was up to.

Elena led Kol to Jeremy’s room where Jeremy was prepared to fire stakes at him. He fired two stakes and Kol caught them, so Elena shot some wooden bullets into his chest and Jeremy ran. Kol threw a stake at Elena and hit her in the leg. He grabbed Jeremy and threw him down the stairs. Kol grabbed a piece of wood from the railing and staked Elena to the wall with it. He pulled Jeremy down the stairs and pinned him down. He grabbed a meat cleaver and just when he was about to cut off Jeremy’s arm Elena pushed Kol and the cleaver cut him. Jeremy jumped up and grabbed the faucet and shot vervain water at Kol. Nice move Jeremy. Elena gave Jeremy the stake, and he staked Kol. Kol burst into flames and fell to the floor. Klaus arrived just in time to see Kol die. He was furious and had tears in his eyes.

At the school, Stefan decided to try to get Rebekah to remove her boots and dance in the hallway to get the dagger away from her. Matt was waiting around the corner and saw Rebekah take the dagger and give it Stefan. She knew that’s what he was after. She said “You’re right. I do care. I want stupid koala corsages and a prom. I want to have kids with someone who loves me enough to stand outside my window with a stupid boombox. I want to be human. So let Klaus put down my brother, and let’s go find the cure.”  Aw! I actually felt sorry for her. Stefan couldn’t bring himself to stake her after that. He grabbed her and they left to go home.A View to a Kill

At Bonnie’s house, Abby was mixing powder to keep Bonnie asleep but it didn’t work. Bonnie was stronger than that. She got up and told Abby she belongs to herself now, not the spirits and used her power to hurt her mother and left.

Elena saw Klaus and tried to act like they had no choice but to kill Kol. Klaus knew that they planned it because Kol was in the house which meant they invited him in. He said he was going to set the house on fire and kill them when they tried to get out. Jeremy told him that he would never get the cure for Elena to make more hybrids if he died. This is when the truth came out. Klaus said he didn’t want the cure to make more hybrids. He wanted it so he could destroy it. He was going to kill them all as soon as they found it. Bonnie showed up and put her pain powers on Klaus and told Jeremy to invite him in. Then she put an invisible shield on Klaus that trapped him in the living room. If he wasn’t furious before, he definitely is now.

Stefan told Rebekah about Kol and she was hurt that Stefan knew about the plan to kill her brother. Stefan told her that Kol was never going to let them find the cure and he wasn’t going to let him hurt the people he cares about including and her. He said he still wants them to find the cure together, for Elena and for her.

At Salvatore Mansion, everyone was waiting for Jeremy’s mark to grow. Damon was free to see Elena now since his compulsion was broken. Stefan came home with Silas’ headstone which proved that Rebekah was still on their side. Bonnie said they had three or four days to find the cure before Klaus’ spell would break. Elena assumed Rebekah was daggered and thought they just needed Professor Shane to get the ball rolling. Stefan told them he didn’t dagger Rebekah because she’s on their side. This was the perfect time for Damon to announce that Stefan slept with Rebekah and he took full advantage of the moment. The Salvatore Brothers started arguing and Elena told them to stop. Stefan said “Why don’t you tell her to calm down, Damon. You’ve managed to use that sire bond pretty well so far, haven’t you?” (Seriously Stefan has had the best lines lately and I love it!) Damon punched Stefan and just as Stefan was about to hit him back Jeremy screamed and ripped his shirt off (looking good Jeremy)! It was happening. His mark grew and everyone could see it.

What did you think of this episode? Do you like Stefan better with Elena or without her? Are you excited to see Caroline and Tyler back next week? Do you think Klaus will get his revenge? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below.
