Roz

Roz lives in the Los Angeles area, and has been a long time California girl. Despite her better judgment, she enjoys shows about the shallow sides of her home city, but will also find time to watch iZombie, Jane the Virgin, and much more. With a love of history, she also watches anything that is grounded in real life, including Victoria and black-ish. Having worked with children, she also follows shows she knows they watch (reminding her of those days of yore for her in the process). Contact her at roz@nicegirlstv.com.

Talking Dollhouse

A little over a month ago, I had the chance to talk to some of the actors involved with Dollhouse, specifically Tahmoh Penikett and Harry Lennix. Sadly, I’ve been holding out on the transcripts until now, but with the show about to premiere, hopefully everyone can forgive me. Without further or do, there are the questions I asked each of …

Failing in 3D

Normally, I’m all for innovative TV watching, which should explain why I watch so much each year, but there’s been one example of “new” viewing that fell flat. NBC chose to air Monday’s Chuck in 3-D. Normally, I’d be all about the spy world being forced at me more than is normal, but the truth is that I didn’t enjoy …

Is the FCC Sleeping?

Yesterday morning I sat in my room to watch Trust Me‘s premiere episode. I enjoy basic cable shows on occasion (I’m a pretty causal USA viewer, but Mad Men has me), but I came away at the end of the episode wondering if something had happened to the FCC that they decided two small pieces were fine for broadcast. As …

On the Draw of Vampires

Had anyone told me three years ago that I’d have fallen for a trio of shows about vampires, I’d had laughed in their face and scoffed. However, it is now a fact that now I’ve worked my way through most of the recent television shows on vampires. As it stands now, I’m twenty-eight episodes away from finishing Buffy the Vampire …

Look Who’s Coming Back

Via our friends at Spoiler TV, it seems everyone’s favorite wayward son from the Upper East Side is returning. Carter Baizen, the rake who came to steal Nate’s money last season, will return. No details are available for how long he’ll be around for, but I’m sure the drama will be worth the return. Also available from SpoilerTV are some …

Fox TCA Recap

As Melissa so eloquently pointed out in Tuesday’s TV guide, I was not home to watch any of the usual Tuesday shows. Instead I spend the day with hundreds of other television critics looking at the new programming for Fox’s Winter and Spring line-up. Much as I’d like to talk about the process of being in the room, I’ll spare …

On the State of Cable Ratings

While sitting in the Fox TCA presentation, an executive from FX started to talk about the state of Cable Ratings and why the current Neilsen system doesn’t work with the way in which Cable operates. The point, as I’m sure that everyone is aware of, is that Neilsen doesn’t have a proper means to look at the total views of …

Various spoilers

With all of our favorite shows on the way back (or already back) various spoilers for the end of the sesason have appeared.  As I’m sure plenty have already seen from Ausiello, here are some details on upcoming story lines. Some new blood comes to the Upper East Side, this time for Nate. Everyone’s least favorite girl from the UES …

Someone new is coming to West Beverly

Via Watch with Kristin, there’s a new girl coming to Beverly Hills. Aimee Teegarden has been cast as a new girl around West Beverly to interact with any number of our favorite misguided teens. Anyone else waiting to see how little Julie Taylor will fit in around Los Angeles?

Not Again

In an article posted today by Variety, a SAG strike might be on the horizon. After the WGA strike last year, I’d really like to not have the industry fall one more time (not that I agree with the AMPTP stance, mind you.) All of the Nice Girls like television and movies (why would we blog about them?), but the …
