Rueben's Ramblings
Going to WonderCon 2015
A little over a week from now I will be heading to Anaheim, California to attend WonderCon 2015. This will mark my fifth consecutive trip to the city that is known for Disneyland to participate in the annual fete that finds comic book and pop culture fans converging en masse to the precursor to the San Diego Comic Con.
With the announcement late last week of the event’s full schedule, the reality of it being that time of year again has set in; and it is time to gear up for another big round of panels, a crowded exhibit hall and lots of great costumes.
This year I am hoping to participate in a lot of great panels that will focus on a number of TV shows, including the new FOX thriller Wayward Pines, the summer TNT drama The Last Ship, the new CW drama The Messengers, the fan favorite TNT series Falling Skies and the international BBC America hit Orphan Black.
There will also be panels honoring actress Felicia Day, what the Marvel Universe has in store for us in the box office and on the small screen, several panels saluting TV and film writers and some panels that will spotlight women not only behind the scenes but also in front of the camera.
While WonderCon is smaller in size compared to the San Diego Comic Con and may not pull in the big-name film screen actors we have been showing up in droves for the long running fete over the past handful of years or so, it is still an entertaining and fun event. In fact, it is great way to prepare yourself for the big event in July and easier to attend in the fact that the event isn’t as jam-packed as San Diego Comic Con.
If you haven’t already or if you need to see it again, here is the schedule for all three days of WonderCon 2015: Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
