HART OF DIXIE Recap: I Run to You
I’m covering Hart of Dixie this week and I have a confession, I haven’t been as into the show this season as I have in past seasons. I have a number of issues but you all don’t read these recaps to hear my opinions. Let’s just get into it shall we?
The Bluebell event this week is a relay race that Bluebell has lost to Fillmore five straight times. Lavon is coaching the team and with Lynly, who ran track in college, they expect to win this one.
Lynly and George are still at it in secret. Lynly wants to call it a relationship and tell Lavon. George wants to keep it under wraps. That’s right; George Tucker is going to continue to have sex with one of his best friend’s cousins, on the down low, because apparently he is now “that guy”.
The night before the race Lynly and George are fooling around and she falls off his lap onto the floor, hurting her knee. She tells Lavon she can’t race and how bad she feels. Lavon responds that there is nothing she could do or say that would make him feel less about her. You see where this is headed right? Sure enough she tells him about George Tucker and moments later she calls George to reveal she may have made a small mistake in telling Lavon. George has no time to process this as Lavon is storming onto his house/boat. Lavon tells George to stop seeing Lynly. Look at Lavon giving ultimatums. George doesn’t take it any better than you would expect and says Lavon isn’t the boss of him. Lavon fires him from the relay team. Oh no! The relay team. Heaven forbid.
When Lynly hears that George got kicked off the team instead of stopping seeing her she calls him on it and he admits that they may be in a relationship.
Lavon and Annabeth are having issues of their own. At the office Annabeth tells Zoe how she asked Lavon if they were on the same path a few weeks back and things have been weird ever since. She wasn’t giving him an ultimatum but that is how he heard it and it’s just awkward, awkward, awkward.
Lavon has a similar conversation with George and Lavon decides he is just going to ignore their issues and focus on the relay race.
By the end of the episode Lavon and Annabeth finally grow up and sit down and talk. Lavon wants to go slowly, he wants to move forward, just at a measured pace. Annabeth says that is fine.
Then there is the most ridiculous love triangle of all, Joel, Wade and Zoe. Joel is spending a lot of time with Wade and Zoe doesn’t like it. Joel has writers block and he doesn’t know what to do. Zoe does what she does and pushes him, while Wade does what he does and suggests Joel just blow off steam, play video games and mess around.
There is a point where Tansy’s brother’s show up and get into a disagreement with Wade, in their warped minds they take Joel hostage to teach Wade a lesson of some sort. Wade and Zoe get Joel back and he isn’t harmed or upset, in fact he is ecstatic. His adventure solved his writers block and he writes nonstop the remainder of the episode.
At the end of the episode George gets reinstated to the relay team and manages to pull off a win for Bluebell.
Then we are left with Lemon and Brick spying a very pregnant Shelby back in town.
