WEEK IN REVIEW: Top TV Moments – For Better or Worse

Each week I pick a few TV moments I can’t stop thinking about – for better or worse. If I missed your favorite or frustrating TV moment let me know in the comments below. Since this is a week in review there are going to be spoilers. The whole thing is a spoiler so proceed at your own risk.

New Girl – I have a slight problem with Nick’s character. This man was in Law School, right? Now I know his break up with Caroline broke him but am I to believe he was so broken that all these years later he is still this crazy? I don’t even mind the crazy but he acts nothing like an adult at all. Not ever, like he has no idea how to behave. He did finally open a checking account at the end of this week’s episode but only because Jess made him feel bad.

The Tomorrow People – How fun is Mark Pellegrino as the big bad on The Tomorrow People? Sure you have to not like his character on principle but that doesn’t take away from how much fun it is to watch him be bad. And can we talk special effects for a moment – they are surprisingly good for a TV Show. The teleporting one is especially cool.

Orphan Black – As one of my favorite shows I’m beyond excited to see the stars of Orphan Black make appearances on other shows while waiting for Orphan Black to return. Tatiana Maslany stopped by Parks & Recreation this week as a doctor who caught Tom’s eye. Turns out she is as good at comedy as she is at crazy drama. I didn’t mention it last week (for shame) but Dylan Bruce made an appearance on Arrow. Not surprising as Dylan Bruce is gorgeous making him a perfect fit for a CW show.

American Horror Story: Coven – As someone who grew up watching Jessica Lange on the likes of Tootsie and Cape Fear, to name a few, it is just awesome to me to see her on a weekly TV show. She plays these terrible/creepy/glorious characters season after season on American Horror Story just flawlessly. If that wasn’t enough Angela Bassett has done a few guest appearances this season as well. Two very amazing actresses sharing the screen is never a bad thing.

Modern Family – I watch very few sitcoms, I just don’t usually find them as funny as I think I’m supposed to. However, I always find I like Modern Family. They also do something I think all sitcoms need to do – pull their story together in the end. A mini-rant here but what bothers me about other sitcoms is when the cast’s stories don’t intertwine. I don’t care if they do their own things during the show but for the love of all that is good use everyone and have their stories relate to the other stories in the episode. Here endeth the rant. This week’s episode of Modern Family did that perfectly. Every family was dealing with their own issues and then they added one family’s issues to other family’s issues and in the end the cast all came together. Good job Modern Family.
