I’m not a fan of musicals. To me, they’re cloying, inorganic, and just plain annoying. So how is it that my favorite new show of the season is Glee, a musical? Because the use of musical numbers is creative, original, and infectious. Just watch as Glee puts a new spin on a classic high school football scene, neatly sidestepping several cliches in one shot:
