My Top 12 Choices for October TV

By  |

The fall TV season is in full swing and there are lots of new and returning shows airing throughout the month along with plenty made-for-TV movies.

Out of everything that is airing on the major networks and streaming next month, the following are my top choices:

COMING TO AN END

The following shows will be coming to an end (some of them permanently) in October:

Blood & Treasure on October 2 on Paramount+ [the show hasn’t been officially announced but this could be the end of the action-adventure series]
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law on October 13 on Disney+
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon on October 14
See on Apple TV+ on October 14

SEASON PREMIERES

There are more season premieres next month and my top choices are:

The Equalizer on CBS on October 2 at 8:30 PM
NCIS: Los Angeles on CBS on October 9 at 10 PM
Miss Scarlet & the Duke on PBS on October 16 at 8 PM

JOINING THE RANKS

There are only two dramas, out of the16 new dramas set to debut in October, that I am most curious about. They are both on The CW on October 11 (at 8 PM and 9 PM):

The Winchesters – Told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester, the series focuses on the epic, untold love story of how John Winchester and Mary Campbell met, fell in love and put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world.

Professionals – Tom Welling (Smallville and Lucifer) stars as Vincent Corbo, a top-tier security operative who is paid to protect the interests of rich and powerful clients by any means necessary – legal or not. Brendan Fraser and Elena Anaya also star.

MOVIES AND MORE MOVIES

There are nearly 20 made-for-TV movies airing throughout the month, but the following are the most interesting to me:

Nikki & Nora: Sister Sleuths on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on October 2 at 9 PM. Hunter King and Rhiannon Fish star as fraternal twins Nikki and Nora, who are forced back into each other’s lives when they inherit a detective agency.

The School for Good and Evil on Netflix on October 19. Powerhouse players Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Michelle Yeoh, Laurence Fishburne and Broadway legend Patti LuPone star in a movie about best friends Sophie and Agatha, who have to navigate an enchanted school for young heroes and villains, finding themselves on opposing sides of the battle between good and evil.

Torn on October 27 on Passionflix. This flick is the sequel to the streaming service’s small screen adaptation of the fantasy book trilogy by Jennifer L. Armentrout that focuses on Ivy Morgan, a member of the Order that hunts the things that go bump in the night in the French Quarter; her sexy boyfriend Ren, her fairy Tink and a dangerous Fae Prince who is out to open the gates to the Otherworld that could spell disaster.
