Nominated by Roz: Anna Kendrick as Darby Carter on Love Life on HBO Max

I want to nominate Anna Kendrick for her role as Darby Carter in Love Life on HBO Max. The series presents Darby’s love life as she tries to find the one perfect person for her and in the last four episodes, she deals with the love she needs from her mother, but also the challenges of loving a friend who makes horrible choices. Those two episodes were powerful reminders of the way in which we need different types of love (filial or friendly) to also be able to appreciate romantic love later on.

I’m only three episodes in on Love Life, but I second this nomination! Watching Darby stumble through relationships is like watching a friend. There are so many times during these first three episodes that I’ve found Darby relatable and I can’t wait to see more! I’d also like to highlight that Kendrick isn’t just the leading lady of the show but also an executive producer, so it’s nice to know that although she may no longer be the focus when the show returns for the second season, she’ll still be a part of the show behind the scenes.
