My Top June TV Choices
Despite all that is happening in the world with COVID-19, TV viewers can count on the major and cable networks as well as streaming services to keep us entertained.
The following are my top choices from June TV’s programming options that I am most looking forward to watching:
GOODBYE FOR NOW
The following shows will be airing their finales during June
The Baker and the Beauty will have a two-hour season finale on ABC on June 1 at 9 and 10 PM.
Christian Kane fans will want to check out the final episode of the debut season of Almost Paradise on WGN America on June 1 at 10 PM.
And, the third season of Frankie Drake Mysteries will come to a close on Ovation at 7 PM on June 6.
WELCOME TO THE BLOCK
The following new dramas are set to debut throughout June:
Trackers on Cinemax on June 5 at 10 PM
This 6-episode series, an adaptation of the Deon Meyer crime novel, interweaves three story strands into a sophisticated action-packed thriller that covers the length and breadth of South Africa, explosively colliding in Cape Town in a violent conspiracy involving organized crime, smuggled diamonds, state security, black rhinos, the CIA and an international terrorist plot.
Beecham House on PBS at 10 PM on June 14
Set in 1795 India, ex-soldier John Beecham (Tom Bateman) buys the titular manse to start a new life after quitting the greedy British East Indian Company. His extended family and household staff are soon caught up in shared secrets, lies, love and political intrigue.
The cast includes Lesley Nicol, who folks will recognize as Mrs. Patmore from Downton Abbey.
Perry Mason on HBO on June 21 at 9 PM
This drama series follows the origins of American fiction’s most legendary criminal defense lawyer, Perry Mason (Matthew Rhys). It’s 1931 in Los Angeles. While the rest of the country struggles through the Great Depression, LA is booming. When the case of the decade breaks down his door, Mason’s relentless pursuit of the truth reveals a fractured city and just maybe, a pathway to redemption for himself.
The ensemble cast includes Tatiana Maslany (of Orphan Black fame), Robert Patrick (Terminator 2 himself) and veteran actor John Lithgow [among others].
BACK FOR MORE
The third season of Yellowstone will premiere on the Paramount Network on June 21 at 9 PM and will feature Lost alum Josh Holloway as the new “big bad” on the show. It’s going to be quite the showdown with him joining the cast.
