First Responders Showdown: Round 3

By  |

Our First Responder Showdown has reached the Sweet 16 round!

With COVID-19 revealing just how important first responders are to our health and safety, this time around we’re featuring fictional firefighters and paramedics from several shows both current and past. During Round One, we selected 64 characters from series such as Chicago Fire, 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Lone Star, Station 19, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Rescue Me, and Third Watch, and with your votes, which were then narrowed down to 32 characters for Round Two, and now for Round Three, we are down to 16 characters from Chicago Fire, Station 19, 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star. As with the previous round there are some tough choices to make as the competition gets hotter. (Sorry couldn’t resist, haha.) Who advances to Round 4 depends on you and your votes!

Before we get started, a few notes:

  • Obviously there are more than 64 actors portraying first responders. To keep the field to 64 total, we limited contenders to main or recurring characters over a show’s run, including characters who died or left the show.
  • Performers were paired randomly for Round 1 and the winners of each bracket were paired with someone who received a similar amount of votes for Rounds 2 and 3. The Round 4 brackets will be paired in a similar fashion to the previous two rounds.
  • We welcome your arguments on why voters should choose specific performers in the comments! Feel free to campaign for your faves on social media and be sure to tag us with our @nicegirlstv handle!

Ange is the Girl from Oz who travelled the States. Teen dramas, rom-comedies and superhero shows are her weakness. She also loves a good crime and medical drama and probably watches more TV than she can handle... You can contact her at ange@nicegirlstv.com.
