A Million Little Things: Daisy
A Million Little Things aired a new episode on Thursday night.
Here is a synopsis for season two, episode 13: Daisy
Delilah and Sophie come together during a family emergency; Rome and Regina learn that their potential birth mother could be in danger; and Maggie and Gary face a harsh reality when they attend a mutual friend’s cancer remission party.
Nice Girls Cay and Rueben share their thoughts on this episode:
Rueben:
There was a lot of therapy going on in this episode whether it was in an actual therapist’s office or not. Regina hearing Maggie out or Eddie and Rome hearing Gary out or Katherine “pretending” to get therapy from that therapist in the attempt to get Theo to open up. And that little pep talk therapy from Gary and Maggie to their friend Elena at her remission party. Like I said, a lot of therapy going on.
And can we talk about that fake out of Gary and Maggie getting stuck in the elevator and then they both proclaim their love for each other…I SHOULD have seen that psych out coming, but I didn’t, and felt like such a dope for not seeing it for what it was. Can they really just be friends?
It finally happened…Sophie got a little insight into what her mom was going through with John courtesy of her grandfather inadvertently, due to his Alzheimer’s, telling Sophie about the problems her parents were having and how they were putting on a good act for everyone. I get that Sophie is acting like a typical teenager (and doing exactly what I would have done at that age), but there are always two sides to a story, and Sophie needed to hear both rather than just going with what she THOUGHT she knew. Hopefully she’ll start to grow up a little, and realize that her mom is human too.
How about that food fight? Yuck! Don’t get me wrong, it was probably the right thing to do since Katherine has been such a stickler with Theo about being neat and organized (I’m just as guilty of that in my own life so I can’t criticize), but still yuck. I will admit to laughing over the whole thing though.
I had a feeling when Eve, the expectant mom, told Rome and Regina – or more to the point didn’t tell them – about the birth father that he was going to be a problem. They wouldn’t have introduced that into the storyline if it wasn’t going to be a problem; but I hope it’s over and done quickly – and not dragged out for too many episodes.
Cay:
It was nice to have an episode that seemed to actually have some resolution, or at least steps in that direction, for many of the characters. The Alzheimer’s plot was a great way to start mending the relationship between Sophie and Delilah. It allowed her to see the situation from Delilah’s perspective but coming from someone that she trusts who wasn’t at all involved in the situation. Speaking of Sophie, I wonder if making out with the guy at the restaurant was just acting out, or if we’ll be seeing more of him. TJ has really disappeared now that we found out he isn’t related – wonder if his character is gone from the storyline, or if we will see more of him.
So glad to see Katherine, Eddie, and Theo making positive strides. When Katherine was originally introduced, she was so uptight and Theo was on such a short leash. Then they kind of backed away from that as she dealt with Eddie’s infidelity. It’s nice to see that they are now going back to it and kind of filling things in and giving more rationale for the changes that we’ve seen in her character. I’m with you on the food fight – it looked like fun, but I would have never done it because I wouldn’t have wanted to clean it all up. Whatever that yellow stuff was will probably stain!
I don’t think the “friendzone” will last very long with Maggie and Gary. It’s good that they’ve finally got a lot of stuff out in the open. Obviously they’ve had a complicated relationship, but I think that they are headed back together, even as they may outwardly deny it.
The only characters in this episode that didn’t get some sort of resolution or improvement were poor Rome and Regina. I agree that the birth father is definitely going to be a problem. I originally suspected it might be something even worse than an abusive boyfriend – something like rape or incest – but there may indeed be more to the story than we know so far. I also hope that they don’t drag it out and make them miserable for the rest of the season!
