STUMPTOWN Roundtable: November Surprise
Stumptown fans! Join Nice Girls Roz, Leah and Lisa while we discuss this episode of Stumptown – “November Surprise” which focused on the following:
Dex goes undercover after she is hired by a local politician to dig up dirt on his political opponent. Meanwhile, Grey and Liz’s romance continues, and Dex celebrates a tense Friendsgiving at Bad Alibi.
The Good
Leah:Dex doing the right thing even when it hurts. Do I wish she would do the right thing from the beginning – sure, but what fun is that? Also I really like Ansel. He is the right amount of funny and serious.
Lisa: I love Ansel! I thought it was so cute when he and Miles joked about not letting Dex cook because they don’t want to get sick. He is so genuine.
The Bad
Leah:Everything about the campaign being run by the fantastic Eliza Coupe. I mean she was awesome, but the ruining of a family was not. Also also – I expect holiday episodes to be more family at home around the table hijinx. I’m not sure I appreciate that Friendsgiving was just a 2 minutes blurb at the end of the episode.
Lisa: I agree. I love a good Friendsgiving episode and wanted more of the Friendsgiving part of it. Also, I don’t trust Liz one bit. She is moving too fast with Grey and I don’t trust it. Mark my words she is up to no good and Dex is right to be suspicious of her.
Final Thoughts
Leah: I keep waiting for Grey’s new love to do something awful. Is it the way they are playing it? When she left the kitchen at the end of the episode to go to the bathroom I was really expecting to see her on the phone with someone or planting cameras or SOMETHING.
Also while I’m complaining about her – that whole “keep it professional”? This chick got a $20/hr job and doesn’t pool her tips because Grey is smitten. Ridiculous.
Lisa: Yes! I thought the same thing. I was like “oh here comes the old go to the bathroom and really plant cameras or snoop around trick.” We are on the same page Leah! And what bartender makes $20/hr and doesn’t pool tips? Shit….let me get that bartending gig. SMH..
Lastly, I would like to see more of Miles and his storyline, not because I have a huge crush on Michael Ealy and need more of that in my life, just because that’s what I want. Happy Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving everyone!
