Batwoman episode 106: I’ll Be Judge, I’ll be Jury

Gotham City reaches out to their new vigilante hero following a troubling death; Luke confides in Kate; Sophie requests a special assignment from Jacob; Alice continues her plot against the Kanes; Batwoman visits Mary again.

Join NiceGirls Lisa and Cay as they discuss the episode using our feature SASSY: S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(our Thoughts):

STUPID

Cay:  The blame game that Kate and her father are playing is illogical – it wasn’t their fault that Beth turned into Alice. It also wasn’t Batman’s fault. Exactly how do they get Beth “back” at this point? Alice is a homicidal maniac – how do you rehab that? Lock her up and hope to have a breakthrough and visit her in prison for the rest of her natural life? It does seem like Alice still cares for Kate, but it’s not like they could ever have any sort of normal relationship at this point.

Lisa: I’d like to file the skin replacement scene under creepy and stupid. Ugh…it was gross. Also, the security guard trying to ask Batwoman out for a drink was laugh out loud stupid. That guy will never get a date with those lame pick up lines.

AWESOME

Lisa: Batwoman kicking the Executioner’s ass was awesome! Her fight scenes never get old. Then the scene at the end where Kate and her Dad had an emotional moment and agreed to not give up on Beth. Hopefully, that was the first step in mending their relationship. Also, Mary was pretty awesome in this episode. When she explained to Sophie that her followers think she is “poppin bottles” but she is really saving lives at the clinic, and then called her out for walking away from Kate. I loved that she had Kate’s back.

Cay: Mary is always awesome! I love her loyalty to Kate and how she isn’t afraid to call Sophie out on her behavior. Sophie better not rat her or Kate out! It was nice to see Kate and her father actually share a special moment as they seem to be at odds so frequently.

SO SO

Lisa: Mouse and his jealousy for Kate. Meh. I guess I should be interested in this storyline, but I’m not. Mouse is just a distraction and Alice’s pet that’s in the way of her relationship with Kate. I just don’t see how long his character will be relevant because I’m already over him.

Cay: Yep, I’m with you. Done with him.  Will be interesting to see if this week’s villain was a one-off, or if we continue to see a storyline develop. I’m intrigued by Luke’s connection to it all.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Lisa: Now that Sophie knows that Kate is Batwoman, will she keep quiet? She stumbled upon Kate and her Father’s emotional scene and it appeared that she was going to tell him and changed her mind. But for how long? Hopefully Kate can change her mind.

Cay: It feels like Batwoman’s secret is going to be a challenge to keep! Sophie knows, Alice knows, Mary has to have some, perhaps unconscious clue, and it came awfully close with Kate’s father as well. I don’t remember Batman having quite these many issues in such a short period of time.

Batwoman airs on Sunday nights at 8pm on the CW.
