Comic-Con 2019: Stephen Amell on the end of ARROW

By  |

This year marks the final Comic-Con appearance for the cast and creative team of Arrow, founders of the Arrowverse on the CW. Our first interview is with Stephen Amell, the de facto leader of the ‘verse.

Stephen was in a contemplative mood, thinking about the legacy of Arrow, expressing embarrassment about the “adulation” he received from his colleagues during the panel. Arrow is and will always be the most important job he’s ever had and he’s happy that the show got an end date to work towards.

He thinks the new name for the #Arrowverse should definitely not be the #Flashverse, because “that’s stupid!”

Stephen had kind words about his co-stars and professed his love of working with Grant Gustin (Barry Allen/The Flash) and hopes they can do so again sometime before the crossover episodes.

Stephen said that doing the show without Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity) is like “trying to type without your pinkie”. The final season will be very different from previous seasons. It will be more like the show ended, then “came back eight years later to do 10 episodes.”
