Good Witch Recap: “The Honeymoon”

By  |

Last week fans of Good Witch got to witness the long-awaited marriage of Cassie Nightingale and Sam Radford; and this week the happy couple were on their honeymoon at a beautiful family owned vineyard.

Meanwhile back at Grey House, Grace was excitedly awaiting the arrival of her long-distance boyfriend Noah, who was coming back to Middelton for a visit from New York where he and his father [one of Sam’s best friends] relocated because Noah is going to college in the city. Unfortunately, a few days before his visit, Noah decided to break up with Grace, of course, breaking her heart.

Elsewhere in town, Middleton Mayor Abigail is still at odds with Blairsville Mayor Donovan this time around the issue is competing fundraiser for the Middleton local fire department and Blairsville’s hospital. All their back-and-forth is naturally foreplay because they obviously have feelings for each other, which was almost cemented in a kiss at the end of the episode before Martha interrupted them. Martha, of course, reminded Abigail about the Merriwick and Davenport (Donovan’s family) curse, but Abigail seemed nonplussed about it.

Speaking of Martha, she was being considered for a TV gig for a new, proposed talk show in Middleton only to freeze at her audition. But at the fundraiser for both Middleton and Blairsville, which was combined by Abigail and Donovan, Martha redeemed herself in the eye of the producer of the talk show, landing the TV host gig.

Back at the vineyard, Cassie helped Connor and Erin, the siblings who co-own the winery, to work out their long-standing disagreement over selling versus keeping the vineyard in the family. Naturally, Cassie worked her magic first on Connor’s teenaged daughter Alex and then on the siblings. In the end, the grapes – which had been struggling – miraculously ripened, hopefully allowing the vineyard to succeed after several years of hardship.

While Cassie and Sam were enjoying their honeymoon, Grace was at first wallowing in despair over her unexpected break-up with Noah, but then pretended it was two weeks later in order to avoid dealing with her emotions; and baking an endless supply of muffins (Noah’s favorite dessert). In the end, she realized that avoiding her pain wasn’t helping her, and while she was upset about the break-up she needed to deal with it in order to move on.

Also, it was revealed that hospital chaplain Adam had recently broken up with his fiancée and that was why he told Stephanie he was “dealing with something,” and couldn’t go out with her. But now it seemed he was interested in Stephanie after all, but she didn’t want to be the rebound girl. In the meantime, Vincent asked her out and she accepted despite a lingering look at Adam, who happened to be outside the bistro at that precise moment.
