My Top 14 Choices for February TV

By  |

February TV will be here very soon, and with that will be more made-for-TV movies, a few specials, the return of quite a number of dramas and much more.

Out of all that February TV has in store for TV fans, the following are my top 14 choices for the month.

RETURNING DRAMAS

* The Lincoln Lawyer will be back for its fourth season on Netflix on February 5
* The Artful Dodger will be back for its second season on Disney+ and Hulu on February 10
* Cross will be back for its second season, with three episodes, on Amazon Prime on February 11
* The Night Agent will be back for its third season on Netflix on February 19
* The Last Thing He Told Me will be back for its second season on Apple TV on February 20
* Paradise will be back for its second season on Hulu on February 23

Then you have the dramas that will return with new episodes after the holiday break:

* Part two of the fourth season of Bridgerton will begin on February 26 on Netflix
* Matlock will be back for more of season two on CBS on February 26 at 9 PM
* Sheriff Country will be back with more episodes from its debut season while Fire Country will be back with new episodes from its fourth season both on CBS on February at 8 and 9 PM respectively

NEW DRAMAS

Then, out of the handful or so of new dramas that will debut in February, the following two are the ones I am most interested in watching:

Blue Skies on February 19 on UP Faith & Family. The show follows former military police officer Jodi Larsen as she returns to her hometown to start over as a criminal investigator for the National Park Police. Driven by a love of the outdoors and a deep sense of justice, Jodi is determined to protect the park, its visitors and her community, and her unexpected K9 partner is a mischievous stray Labrador named Blue.

The period piece limited series The Gray House, that includes Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman as two of the executive producers, will debut on February 26 on Amazon Prime. The show will focus on four women who help turn the tide of the Civil War in favor of the Union by turning from Underground Railroad operatives into spies.

MOVIES, MOVIES, MOVIES

There will be 10 new made-for-TV movies airing throughout February, but there is only one that I really want to see, mainly because of the cast:

The Stars Between Us will debut on the Hallmark Channel on February 21 at 8 PM. The movie stars Sarah Drew (Everwood, Grey’s Anatomy and Mistletoe Murders) and Matt Long (Manifest and Jack and Bobby). Here is the tagline for the movie: Seven years ago, Kim (Sarah Drew) made a connection with a stranger (Matt Long) during an eclipse event. Now a fledgling news reporter, Kim returns to Illinois for this year’s eclipse, unaware that their paths may cross again.

SPECIAL EVENT

Lastly, The Muppets are going to be back on the small screen for a special that will air on February 4 on both Disney+ and ABC. That’s right: Kermit, Miss Piggy and the Muppets will be back for a special event, featuring music, comedy and a whole lot of the zaniness and chaos for which they are known along with an appearance by hitmaker-singer Sabrina Carpenter.

Our full February TV calendar, focusing on dramas, movies and specials will go live tomorrow so please make sure to check it out and share what programming you are looking forward to watching.
