AGENTS OF SHIELD Roundtable: Fear and Loathing on the Planet of Kitson

By  |

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD was all new Friday. Join us below while we discuss the episodes highs and lows.

It’s a wild night out on the planet of Kitson for the agents. While Fitz and Enoch try their luck at the casino, nearby, Daisy and Simmons find themselves in a much groovier situation.

Join NiceGirls Rueben, Christie and Roz as we discuss the episode, using our ratings system known as SASSY – S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(Your Thoughts):

STUPID

Roz: If we needed a Vegas episode could we have just gone to Vegas? Space Vegas is bad! I get that we need something fun, but I spent most of the episode being frustrated by the gambling when I want FitzSimmons back together.

Rueben: I was annoyed with most of this episode, quite frankly. I know that Davis, Daisy and Jemma had NO idea that those puffy treats would have such an affect on them, but why in the world would you eat anything from a planet in deep space, it’s food from deep space!!

Christie: I am mad that Fitz and Simmons are once again torn apart after finally seeing each other. I want this to all stop. Just let them be together or let them get closure about the end of their relationship.

Also — I feel like rule 101 of being in space is “don’t eat things when you don’t know what they are.” I mean, these are humans. They’ve seen and/or read Alice in Wonderland, right? And they’re SHIELD agents sooo… that should be part of training, right?

AWESOME

Roz: Enoch’s first moment in the casino made me smile like nothing else, but that was so small compared to everything else.

Rueben: That brief moment of Fitz and Simmons seeing each other when she stumbled into the room outside the room where Fitz and Enoch were trapped only to have that hunter capture him. ARGH!!

Christie: Fitz and Enoch at the casino was great. Enoch trying to get Fitz to like him as a friend was kind of sweet in a Star Trek’s Data sort of way. I also kind of enjoyed the stupidity of Jemma and Daisy on drugs, only because they seemed to be having fun laughing at how ridiculous it was.

SO SO

Roz: We need more answers about Sarge and his plan soon.

Rueben: What was the deal with that coda scene of Sarge and the giant with Sarge shooting that huge weapon into the sky. What was that all about?

Christie: The special effects seemed very cheap to me this week. Anyone else?

YOUR THOUGHTS

Roz: These episodes feel like a bit set up for something and I hope we see that soon, because my interest is waning.

Rueben: I want to enjoy this season, but so far – meh! I want them to get Fitz back and figure out what the deal is with Sarge and his team. Perhaps with Deke appearing in next week’s episode things will start to interesting again??

Christie: I need the story to get a move on. Maybe I’ve been watching too many short season TV series. I hate that the show is stretching the story out. Just get to the point!

In light of this episode, we also want to share Elizabeth Henstridge and Jeff Bell from WonderCon. Is Jemma making the best decisions or is she acting out of fear/love for Fitz?

The next new episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will air on Friday, May 31 at 8/7c on ABC.
