Blindspot Roundtable: Coder to Killer

By  |

On this week’s Blindspot:

A horrifying and vengeful villain threatens the FBI. Weller considers his priorities. Zapata and Reade try to navigate their living situation. Patterson explores a budding interest.

Join the NiceGirls staff as they discuss the episode using our new feature SASSY: S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(our Thoughts):

STUPID

Roz: I don’t know why we need more people to pretend to be in tech to get into the FBI, when the FBI should be so much better at checking into who is coming into the building.

Cay: How many times can the FBI field office be infiltrated in one season?

Rueben: Yeah, I thought it was pretty stupid that the FBI wouldn’t check out that guy’s identity better especially when Patterson knew he was carrying the wrong cables. Sure, they were distracted by the case at hand, but Patterson is WAY smarter than that, the wrong cables should have made her suspicious.

Lisa:  Roz you took the words out of my mouth. How dumb is that? Also, Reed was pretty stupid to take Rich down to the circuit room to find the agent updating the system (I can’t remember his name) and not go in with him. Why wouldn’t he go in with Rich to find him? Then Rich was stuck in there when he found him dead. SMH…

Leah: This is the problem with answering after everyone else…..they all said exactly what I was thinking. Come on FBI be better!

AWESOME

Cay: As usual, Rich and Patterson. I thought it was funny that he kept suggesting THEY would be good parents. Also like the double agent/mole in Briana – makes things interesting!

Rueben: I have to admit that the scene between Patterson and Weller’s little girl, when she was hiding under the bed pretending to be a monster, was rather cute because Patterson is obviously really taken with the little girl. I was also proud of Briana when she told Dominic (who she obviously doesn’t know is Dominic) that she wouldn’t do what he was demanding of her UNTIL he threatened her parents. She is trapped in an impossible situation.

Leah: Rich dotcom is usually my go to for awesome, but I agree with Roz on this one. An attempted double cross is always a good time.

Lisa: Rich dot com and his game of 20 questions! He makes me laugh so much and I thought it was cute that he was reciting questions from the adoption application for Patterson. That was a good way for us to find out she’s interested in adopting.

Roz: I actually like the double cross that we’re getting with the FBI agent who is working more and more to be part of the team. It’s not going to end well for her, but that won’t end well in the finale, I hope.

SO SO

Roz: Can they have Zapata and Reade figure their stuff out and not put in new random people to test their relationship? That poor girl didn’t do anything yet she’s not getting coffee with Reade.

Rueben: I was a little taken aback by the silly 20 questions that Rich was asking of Patterson and Briana while they were waiting for the computer system to come back online until it was revealed why he was asking those things.

Cay: Yeah, Zapata and Reade cohabiting in his studio,  but not in a relationship? They seem way too intimate for them to have Reade casually going on a date.

Lisa: I feel like I’m supposed to care more about Kurt and his relationship with his daughter, but I just don’t. I almost feel guilty saying that, but that storyline is meh for me.

Leah: Thank you Lisa! They have done very little to even remind us he is a father….let alone make us care about their relationship.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Cay: I’m not sure that I love Patterson as a mother, especially a single one. I like her as the cool Auntie much more. It’s hard to imagine her adopting a kid with her job. Definitely ready to be done with the Madelyn storyline.

Rueben: I think we can all agree that we were getting tired of the whole Madelyn being the “big bad,” right? Let’s just hope that storyline comes to a satisfactory conclusion, and we can move on from her. Since the next season will be the last, let’s hope we don’t have anymore bomb threats and that the characters get some semblance of happy endings.

Roz: Assuming that the team beats Madelyn next week, what do we have to imagine for next season?

Lisa: Will we get to see Patterson as a mother? That might be a cool twist.

The two hour season finale of BLINDSPOT will air next Friday, May 31 at 8/7c on NBC.
