Women Behind the Scenes Spotlight: Shelley Eriksen

Today’s Women Behind the Scenes spotlight is shone on series creator, executive producer and writer Shelley Eriksen.

Shelley is from Toronto, Canada, and got her start as a story editor, executive story editor and writer on the Canadian drama Traders from 1998 to 2000. She then worked as an executive story consultant, and writer on the Canadian police drama Cold Squad from 2001 to 2005. During those years she also worked on a handful of made-for-TV movies, and then from 2007 to 2012 she went on to work on shows like Blood Ties (as a writer and executive story consultant), Republic of Doyle (as a creative consultant), Flashpoint (as a supervising producer), 18 to Life (as a writer and co-producer) and Bomb Girls (as writer and consulting producer).

In 2013, she became the co-executive producer and writer on the popular sci-fi series Continuum, working on that show for two season. She then wrote for Rookie Blue and This Life before creating the fan favorite Canadian series Private Eyes where she also serves as writer and executive producer.

In 2017, she was the co-executive producer and writer on the short-lived series Somewhere Between and most recently is a writer and executive producer on the Netflix fantasy horror drama The Order.
