Blindspot Roundtable: Everybody Hates Kathy

By  |

On this week’s Blindspot:

The team discovers an international conspiracy when a deadly weapon is stolen, Jane (Jaimie Alexander) supports Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) when someone from his past dredges up painful memories, and Patterson (Ashley Johnson) and Rich (Ennis Esmer) contend with their newly-released hacker accomplice.

Join the NiceGirls staff as they discuss the episode using our new feature SASSY: S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(our Thoughts):

STUPID

Leah: I never thought I’d put Rich in the stupid column but he and Patterson did not thrill me with their play to pay Kathy!

Roz: Oh Kathy’s plot for money is really dumb, and that Patterson and Rich fell for it is even worse.

Cay: Surely two geniuses like Patterson and Rich could come up with a better option than paying Kathy $400k?

Rueben: Yep, that was a dumb move on their part especially thinking that Kathy would just keep quiet and go away. Really?!

Lisa: Exactly. At first I thought Patterson was hacking her computer to make her think they paid her the $400k, but nope. She really paid her. That was so dumb!

AWESOME

Cay: #Thatsuit !!! I liked that Kurt’s mother was redeemed and they are repairing their relationship. There are a lot of mother issues on this show. Oh, and the unholy alliance between Kathy and Dominic is pretty awesome, too, in a very bad for everyone kind of way.

Rueben: I couldn’t agree more with you Cay on both accounts: the mommy issues on the show and that horrible coupling of Dominic and Kathy. That isn’t going to end well for our team at all.

Leah: I’m going to agree with Cay and Rueben on this. Dominic and Kathy – awesome in an evil way and thank goodness Kurt’s Mom isn’t another Shepherd!

Lisa: I feel like my answer here is always going to be Rich Dot Com! I loved when he tried on the suit and said, “What color is this tonsil? Tongue? Dog Tongue? Whoopie cushion!” He is hysterical!

Roz: That suit is amazing, but I want to give the awesome to Elizabeth Mitchell as the deranged mom in the Star Wars plot. It’s always great to see her back on TV even if she was playing a bad guy this week.

SO SO

Leah: There are a million different crime shows on TV – I KNOW there are other plots besides bombs.

Roz: I dislike the bomb plots as much as the next person, but are they as flashy and require as much teamwork as bomb threats? Once we moved beyond solving tattoos, I think bombs are the safest spot to have the whole team take part.

Rueben: While it wasn’t a bomb scare, like so many times before, we got possible missile strikes. It’s close enough to be annoying. They really need to come up with other issues to be focused on.

Cay: I was annoyed when it was another nuclear bomb plot, but then that part didn’t really end up mattering much at all.

Lisa: I agree with Rueben and Cay. They need to come up with some other issues. I’m over the missile strikes and bomb plots.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Cay:  It was great to see Elizabeth Mitchell (Scarlett) – I loved her in Lost and Revolution.

Rueben: Will Kurt’s mom actually go to rehab and try to start a new life for herself? Will this finally mean we are done with the whole Shepherd/Sandstorm storyline? What kind of chaos does Kathy have planned with Dominic? How much trouble will this cause for Patterson and Rich and the entire team.

Lisa: Whatever Kathy has planned can’t be good especially since she is hooked up with Dominic. I am curious to see where that storyline will go.

Cay's family thinks her obsession with pop culture is "not normal". Normal is boring!
