WHISKEY CAVALIER Roundtable: Confessions of a Dangerous Mind

By  |

This week on Whiskey Cavalier:

The team heads to Europe to transport a dangerous prisoner for interrogation, and the prisoner is Will’s former boss; Jai helps organize a Secret Santa gift exchange for an off-season Spy Christmas.

Join us as we use our new ratings system known as SASSY – S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(Your Thoughts):

STUPID

Rueben: I actually hated that Will and Frankie thought his old boss would buy Frankie going rogue, and obviously he DID know it was fake. They could’ve taken him down after all. And what’s more WHO is the shooter in France and the person behind the wheel of his getaway car?! I didn’t like Todd from the first intro so I’m glad he’s gone.

Cay: Two words: spy Christmas. I can’t stand Christmas celebrations outside of December. Hate it! And the Brits happen to also celebrate this lame made up holiday?  No excuse for this, unless they actually thought that this episode would air near Christmas.

Leah: I’m with Rueben…how was this the plan? UGH!

Roz:  I’m with all of you. There was plenty of stupid this week and you’ve gotten them all.

AWESOME

Leah: Jai and Standish doing the chest bump was a head tilting “ahhhh!” moment for me. I like that Jai is bonding more with the team. I’m also good for any background on characters so info on Will was a win.

Roz: I’m all for the team being awesome and using their skills to get at The Trust.

Rueben: I actually thought that Ray really stepped up this time. Granted he’s still very annoying, but he came through when they needed him. I also loved the goofy little moments of Will wearing his new hat at the end of the episode and Jai and Standish doing the chest bump. I feel connected to Jai as he doesn’t know how to interact with people, and I feel I’m like that a lot too so I relate to him.

Cay: Standish is now down a nemesis. I won’t cry for Todd. And I like any plotline that goes back to Will’s background and gets him upset.

SO-SO

Leah: Oh Ray – I still really dislike you, but you did manage to come through for the team. That puts you up to meh in my book.

Roz: Ray had his one moment, but then he ruined it all with his freak-out after Will sort of forgave him.

Rueben: I get it that Susan’s hands were tied when Todd was holding a gun against her as he faced off with Jai and Ray, but she’s a freaking spy too. She should’ve had some move to get the better of him rather than just standing there.

Cay: Ray was kind of cool in this episode, but I’m not quite ready to forgive and forget.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Leah: I have to believe the old boss will play into upcoming story lines, right? Otherwise this episode was basically a waste of time. I still like this show and I like the chemistry of the cast so I’m optimistic they will explain everything eventually.

Roz: Show, please set up The Trust as our ultimate Big Bad so this matters more. Please!

Rueben: What is going to happen now that the old boss got away? Sure he doesn’t have the microchip since Will switched it out, but they wouldn’t have shown him get away without his playing into the overall arc of the rest of the show. Do any of us think that Will will ever truly forgive Ray (despite his momentary help in saving Susan)? How do we feel about Tina and Standish? Could she be the shooter/driver or am I thinking too far afield for another mole?

Cay:  The boss better come back in a meaningful way later in the season now that they let him escape with a dumb plan!

Cay's family thinks her obsession with pop culture is "not normal". Normal is boring!
