Blindspot Roundtable: The Big Blast From The Past Episode

By  |

This week’s Blindspot focused on:

An active bomber forces the team to delve into a case from their past. We get a peek of what was going on in the FBI while Jane was AWOL and Kurt was searching for her. An old clue from Shepherd surfaces, and a current adversary has it out for a member of the team.

Join the NiceGirls staff as they discuss the episode using our new feature SASSY: S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(our Thoughts):

STUPID

Rueben: Weitz! He was so freaking annoying throughout this episode; both in the flashbacks and the current time line. How could he do that to Stuart, and then call in that drone strike! Now he’s in trouble with Burke’s right-hand man – even though he doesn’t know that it’s Burke’s right-hand man – and how much blow back is that going to have on the team?

Cay: I’ve never liked him, here’s yet another reason. How dumb is he that he thought he’d get away with this long-term? My assumption is that this secret, or something related to it, probably played a strong role in Stuart’s death

Lisa: Agreed. Weitz wins the stupid award. I just hope his stupidity doesn’t affect the team in the long run.

Leah: Weitz is the worst! The. Worst. What an idiot. How is this a sustainable path? Well, obviously it isn’t, but still. Ugh. To second Cay….I never liked him.

AWESOME

Rueben: Rich gets the best dialogue no matter which timeline it is set in. It was also great to see what caused Tasha to leave the FBI for the CIA; and how the team worked when Weller was on the hunt for Jane. I wasn’t expecting to see Hirst so I have to wonder if she will make a repeat performance down the line.

Cay: For a couple of minutes I was worried the Rich might turn out to be the guilty party and I was thinking “no, you can’t take Rich!”. This episode was a clever way to give us some insight into what happened during that big time jump.

Lisa: Rich Dot Com for the win! He is always my favorite. During the flashback scene where Hirst said to Rich “And you are?” He responded, “Full of regret” and it was awesome! I can never have too much of him.

Leah: Rich is most often my favorite part of any episode, this was no exception. Also though, I am always in for a flashback/backstory kind of episode. This was a good episode all around for me.

SO SO

Rueben: I’m not sure how I feel about the Shepherd puzzle. Where is that all heading? Can’t we just be done with her?

Cay: Another bomb plot?!? At least this one didn’t involve a member of the team cutting a wire with 2 seconds to go.

Lisa: Seriously, if we see one more bomb plot, I might explode.

Leah: Ha! Just look at Cay and Rueben’s answers and you will know where I am at as well.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Rueben: I want to see Tasha and Reade get back to a better semblance of a relationship. I want to see Weitz get taken down once and for all. And like I said I want nothing more than to see the end of the Shepherd storyline.

Lisa: Me too Rueben. I am ready for the Shepard storyline to be put to rest. I know it’s hard for Reade to trust Tasha, and I can’t believe I’m going to say this because I have never been a fan of Tasha’s, but I’d like to see them in a better place as well. And it was good seeing her with the team. Damn…what is wrong with me? Am I smelling toast? lol

Cay: I wasn’t clear how Madeline got involved in this in the first place – how did she find out about the frameup and why did she care? Just to get leverage on Weitz? Maybe I missed something, but how entangled EVERYTHING always is on this show.

The next new episode of BLINDSPOT will air on Friday, March 15 at 8/7c on NBC.

Cay's family thinks her obsession with pop culture is "not normal". Normal is boring!
