DEADLY CLASS Roundtable: “The Clampdown”

By  |

On the latest episode of DEADLY CLASS following the death of Chico and Yukio, a gang war brews during a lockdown imposed by Lin. Read on to find out what we thought of this week’s episode.

THE GOOD

Leah: Finally. Some secrets came out! It was about time everyone of our gang of misfits got on the same page. I like seeing everyone united against a big bad. Also, while obviously Chester gives me the creeps, he is the ultimate awful big bad in the best way.

Roz:   While the ultimate lockdown meant we saw different sets of students having to spend time together. Maria having to be spend time with Brandy Lynn was not something I expected, but something that was sort of needed for the larger issues of the whole school. Same goes for Viktor having to spend time with Marcus, though I can’t say I appreciate both Brandy Lynn and Viktor doing to Master Gao.

Ange: Yes to both of your The Good picks! Finally secrets are starting to come out – how many episodes do we have left in the season? About time! I too enjoyed seeing different sets of students being forced to spend time together. I also liked the hints of friendship/alliance that we saw between Saya and Willie both before and after the lockdown.

THE BAD

Roz:   We have so many secrets out now – though not always to the adults that probably should know – that I don’t like how the group is potentially going to take down Chester. I want to trust the group to band together and solve this problem, but Vegas went as it went and so I have low expectations which will lead to more and more bad news.

Leah: Maria and Saya need to get their shit together. They seemed like genuine friends before Marcus showed up. AND I KNOW – they are hormonal teenage assassins, but come on. Also, I could have done without the Petra storyline. It felt oddly out of place with everything else that was happening.

Ange: I’m with Leah – I’m so over the conflict between Saya and Maria because it just isn’t necessary! Why do two strong females need to be pitted against each other? Why can’t they get along? Why do we have to put boy dramas between them? Be different, show!

THE MUSIC

Roz: I’m such a sucker for “Lips Like Sugar” by Echo and the Bunnyman in those scenes with Petra, Billy and Lex.

Ange is the Girl from Oz who travelled the States. Teen dramas, rom-comedies and superhero shows are her weakness. She also loves a good crime and medical drama and probably watches more TV than she can handle... You can contact her at ange@nicegirlstv.com.
