Claws: Polly Faces Her Past in “Til Death”

By  |

Claws continued to build towards the season finale this week and everyone’s feeling the pressure. While the other gals get into wedding planning, Polly finds herself facing her past.

While preparing for her fake wedding, Desna learns Ruval has a few more assets than she realized, and she wants it all. I think Zlata is rubbing off on her because she is way more ok with the criminal aspect of her life these days. Plus, once she learns what’s on the table, Desna is starting to see possibilities in her future. Zlata is pressuring her to be partners after Ruval is out of the picture, but I still think Zlata has something up her sleeve. There’s no way Desna can trust her.

Jenn and Bryce are planning for a fresh start….in Tampa, but it looks like things might not go their way. The Hussers are back in the black after moving their ill-gotten cocaine, but they need to find more sustainable ways to make money. Roller is growing tired of his cousin’s closeness with Uncle Daddy, especially when he suggests that they open a rehab clinic next to the pain clinic. When they realize the best location for the rehab clinic is in Hank’s storefront, our favorite insane square dancer becomes their only obstacle. Bryce isn’t gonna let Hank be a problem in his life any more though. I gotta say, I’m not sad to see Hank go. What were you thinking, Jenn?

Polly was the big story this week. She’s still dealing with learning that Dr. Ken betrayed them, and After Marnie leaves to be with her mother (that girl either seriously misunderstands Malcolm X or her mama better watch out), Polly starts to unravel. Her sister Lilian shows back up, ultimately showing us that Polly is having an extreme psychotic break. Ultimately Polly comes to terms with what happened in the past with her sister, so let’s hope she’s on the road to recovery. No one’s ready to forgive Dr. Ken yet, but I suspect Polly might have some room in her heart down the road. If nothing else, this show gives lots of opportunities for redemption…of a sort.

Polly and Desna are both coming to terms with who they really are and what their options are. Polly may feel like they’ll never be more than ordinary, but Desna reminds her that they can be proud of who they are and that it’s time for them to take charge of their destiny. As Desna said earlier, “We’ve got to save our damn selves.” #facts

Claws airs Sundays at 9/8c on TNT.

Cara spends way too much time thinking about subtext, and the puns are always intended. When not watching TV, she can generally be found with her nose in a book.
