Claws: Tough Choices in “Crossroads”

By  |

Desna is at a crossroads, but is she selling her soul too? Claws forced everyone to make hard decisions about where they stand and with whom. The crew has started a war and, with just two more episodes in the season, the battle lines are being drawn.

The ladies are in panic mode when they find out Desna’s been arrested, and even more so once they learn someone’s been wearing a wire.  The scramble to take care of things, but ultimately, it’s Zlata’s lawyer and money that get Desna out on bail. Uncle Daddy and Roller quickly save themselves from a double cross by the Dixie Mafia, so it looks like the rednecks are back in the picture. They’ll be facing off against the Russians and the Haitians, who are ready to go to war with each other as well.

While Desna and Uncle Daddy deal with their own issues, everyone else seems to be dealing with their own emotional turmoil. Dr. Ken is panicked by Desna’s arrest. In the midst of everything, Marnie’s mother shows back up claiming to be reformed. Polly sends her packing and does the same to Dr. Ken when she finds out what he’s done, as much as it hurts her. I wonder if this will finally bring Marnie and Polly together.

Bryce is still recovering from his surgery, but his dreams of success are interrupted by Hank going full-on psycho. Jenn thinks Bryce is imagining things until she finds herself in hot water with Hank at home. Jenn manages to get word to Bryce that she’s in trouble, and he arrives with he police just in time. These two needed to bond again, and maybe this rescue is enough to put them back on track for good.

Dean isn’t happy with the ladies response to Desna’s arrest, so he decides to go his own way. Unfortunately he doesn’t have much success. He’s tired of Desna’s bad decisions though, so he has decided it’s time for him and Virginia to get their own place.

Ann was the real heartbreaker for me this week. She turns up to help when she finds out what’s up with Desna, even though she’s bad. But, when Desna tells her that Arlene’s been lying, our favorite tough gal breaks down. Ann confronts Arlene, who does seem pretty conflicted about everything, even if she has been deceiving Ann. I’m glad to see Desna and Ann recovering their friendship, but I hate that it had to happen this way. Plus, I’m pretty sure Ann isn’t going to be thrilled with the path Desna seems to be choosing.

Desna seems to be siding with Zlata in the coming war, but who knows what she’s really got planned. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Claws airs Sundays at 9/8c on TNT.

Cara spends way too much time thinking about subtext, and the puns are always intended. When not watching TV, she can generally be found with her nose in a book.
