Comic Con
Comic Con 2018 Aftermath
San Diego Comic Con 2018 has come to an end and like every year for the past 17 years, I would be chilling out at the house that some of the NiceGirlsTV staff has rented for the past 6 years, dealing with the aftermath of 4 ½ days of attending the convention
By aftermath I mean the exhaustion that follows all those days of getting back and forth from the convention center, racing in and out of rooms – either at the convention center or the nearby hotels – attempting to get to the myriad of panels and subsisting on not enough sleep each day.
But this year, I was unable to attend the annual fete for a variety of reasons, but thanks to all of the major outlets reporting from Comic Con, anyone can follow what is happening at Comic Con online – granted that has been the case for years, but this was my first experience of seeing just how much information is available for non-attendees every single day of the convention.
The only things that I really missed were spending time with the rest of the NiceGirlsTV staff and my other friends who were able to attend this year and getting to see all of the great cosplayer costumes.
Among the panels I would have loved to see live and in person follow; and thankfully those panels are now available online:
Doctor Who
Aquaman
Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog 10th Anniversary Reunion
Shazam!
The other panel that would have been so much fun to see in person would have been “Anything Goes With John Barrowman,” as he is always a blast to watch! He tells the best stories and always, always puts on a great show. I have great memories of seeing him in year’s past with other friends, including NiceGirl Lisa, who joined me for his panel last year, which featured the following musical number:
Lastly, since I am a BIG fan of the TV series Outlander, finding a cosplayer at the annual Masquerade dressed in a replica of Claire Fraser’s wedding dress from season one, was really exciting. That picture follows:
Until next year…
