Good Witch Recap: “All Dressed Up”

By  |

As we get closer to the end of season four of Good Witch, plans for Cassie and Sam’s wedding are coming together, Stephanie and Liam discover they have more in common than either of them realized and some upsetting news is announced that affect the relationship between Noah and Grace as well as Abigail and Phil.

Here is the official synopsis of “All Dressed Up”:

“Cassie sets out to track down Elizabeth Merriwick’s original wedding dress, learning a bit from every woman who wore it; Grace and Noah hit a snag in their relationship as Abigail and Phil start to ramp up theirs.”

Wedding Plans

It would seem that Sam and Cassie are on the same page where their wedding plans are concerned; but that really isn’t surprising, right? It is Cassie after all! Her magical ways reach every inch of Middleton it would seem (one way or another) so it only makes sense that given all the time she and Sam have spent together that they are on the same wavelength.

Except for maybe the guest list, which – as the episode rolled along – seemed to be getting longer and longer for both of them. That is until they finally agreed to make a list of only THE most important people in their lives who should be there. Once again, Cassie’s magic worked its spell and they ended up with an identical list.

Stephanie and Liam

These two have been skirting around each other for several episodes now; with Stephanie going on dates with a different guy but running into Liam at each outing. That is until they both seemed to be at another outing sans a date; that is until Liam’s date arrived by his side. At some point these two have to figure out that they have so much more in common and just go out with each other already, right?

Noah and Grace

Noah received some surprising news from Fordham University, receiving a full-ride scholarship for baseball; but that would mean leaving Middleton – and Grace – right after graduation, heading to New York. But Grace hasn’t applied to any colleges anywhere near New York. That’s going to make for a difficult long-distance relationship for the too.

Abigail and Phil

As for the budding relationship between new-to-town business leader Phil and Abigail, it appeared that things were coming together for the new couple, as Phil applied for a zoning ordinance in order to purchase the old mill for the headquarters of his company. While he was out of town for a few days supposedly preparing his company for the big movie, Abigail “assisted” in getting his records moved to the top of the pile on Mayor Martha Tinsdale desk as well as thwarting the efforts by an outside investor of wanting to buy the mill by scaring them off with the local legend of the ghost who haunts the mill. Just as it looked like Phil won the bidding process, he came back to town to tell Abigail that he found a perfect location for his headquarters in Portland. So much for that relationship working out.

Search for the Dress

Also during the episode, Cassie learned about a wedding dress that was to be worn by her legendary ancestor Elizabeth Merriwick except Elizabeth gave the dress away when she eloped with the man for whom she loved but a man who was not approved of by her parents. The hunt was on then to find that dress. Cassie did a lot of investigating, ending up following numerous leads to different women who, throughout time, wore that dress to their own weddings then passed it along to someone else. Just as it looked like the dress had been lost in a house fire, Grace found it at a cool consignment shop; and it appeared that everything was in place for Sam and Cassie’s wedding to go off without a hitch now that she found the perfect dress.

Were you surprised at all that Cassie and Sam are on the same page about the wedding or that Grace found the elusive wedding dress at that cool little shop? Do you feel bad for Abigail over Phil’s decision? What do you think Noah and Grace will decide to do about their relationship? Please share your thoughts in our comments section below.

The penultimate episode of the fourth season of Good Witch will air on Hallmark Channel on Sunday, June 24 at 9/8c.
