TIMELESS Thoughts: Hollywoodland

By  |

This week on TIMELESS our Time Team takes on the 40’s with a visit to old Hollywood. They make the acquaintance of Hedy Lamarr. She was a beautiful with a lot of brains. Seriously Google her. Or click right here. It’s fascinating. And never confuse her with Hedly Lamarr. Never!

Leah’s Thoughts
The Good
I’m loving how Lucy has this whole, “F*ck it” attitude about changing history now. The first season she was extremely careful to have very little interaction, etc…Not this season. This season Rufus told Hedy something that caused her in the present to be “bigger than Bill Gates.” Lucy thought it was great. No chastising from our historian.
Obviously Wyatt and Lucy is also a highlight for me as well. Can not say enough about their chemistry.

The Bad
I’m really not loving the idea of Jessica coming back. I feel like there is enough going on without the need to add another thing into the mix. I mean also…Lucy and Wyatt forever.
And Conner Mason. That man is the worst. Like actually the worst. We are in this mess because of him and his need to take all of the money from Rittenhouse. He needs to suck it up and be a little more grateful he is still alive.

Roz’s Thoughts
The Good
All Hail Hedy! I love her – and I’ve loved her for way too long (I’m going to admit that Blazing Saddles reference is how I first learned about her – sorry to ruin that joke now!) but to see a version of her, to watch her be an amazing actress with that capacity for great thinking, that was something else. I’m over here just living my little historian dream of meeting people I’d love to have seen when they were alive. Lucy’s attitude about history now is also great. Oh, and all the stuff with Citizen Kane. I love that movie and I don’t want to imagine a world without that in the history of cinema.

On a laugh out loud moment, Rufus quoting “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” was great. It got a great laugh at WonderCon too.

The Bad
Jessica. I’m all for history changing that much that she’s alive, but just as things are going well for Lucy and Wyatt, we get that wrench. We only have ten episodes, why are we wasting it with a love triangle?

Leah reads constantly, sing incessantly and watches TV what her Mother would consider an unhealthy amount. You can find her on twitter @IamPollyP or contact her via email at leah@nicegirlstv.com
