When Calls the Heart: The Wedding

By  |

It’s the wedding fans of When Calls the Heart have been waiting so very long to see come to fruition. And while there were some bumps along the way; namely Bill dealing with a prisoner transfer that was actually supposed to be handled by Jack as well as the more serious fire at the church/school house that was accidentally started by young Cody while the kids were rehearsing for the much anticipated wedding.

Of course, since it is the Hallmark Channel, Bill made it back – with the wedding rings in hand – just in the nick of time; and with everyone from Hope Valley working together to repair the church and recreate a new wedding dress for Elizabeth (in a day and a night) the wedding went off without a hitch.

With everyone in place, including Jack’s younger brother Tom – who has become a productive employee of a tire company – and Elizabeth’s sister Julie – recently returned to Hope Valley after enrolling in art school – Elizabeth’s father walked her down the aisle in a beautiful flowing gown and a floral headpiece from her mother (the headpiece her mom wore at her own wedding).

The ceremony was exactly what I was expecting it to be: romantic, tearful and beautiful. The vows were heartfelt and moving. It was a pretty quick ceremony, though, but I’m pretty sure all the fans were on the edge of their seat, crying their eyes out over the wedding of the year.

It was also nice to see all of them gathered for the reception at the saloon/hotel with Bill and Abigail making speeches, honoring the bride and groom; and then watching all the couples dancing together with Jack and Elizabeth both saying, “Finally.”

What did you like best about the episode? What are your thoughts on Elizabeth’s dress? Was there something you would have liked to see take place in the episode that did not happen? Please share your thoughts on the episode below.

The next new episode of When Calls the Heart will air on the Hallmark Channel on Sunday, March 25 at 9/8c.
