Women of the Week

By  |

With the end of the Winter Olympics and the return and premiere of mid-season shows, we saw quite a few fantastic performances on screen this past week. Read on to find who captivated us enough to dub as our Women of the Week…

Nominated by Leah: Elyse Levesque as Daisy Channing in WGN’s Shoot The Messenger

Did I spend all day Saturday watching all 8 episodes in one go, yes. Yes I did. Do I regret it. No. No I don’t. Daisy is a perfectly flawed character and Elyse captures the characters range of emotions perfectly.

Nominated by Rueben: Alin Sumarwata as Lt. Cpl. Gracie Novin on Strike Back

OMG! I just watched this week’s Strike Back and Alin Sumarwata, who plays Lt. Cpl. Gracie Novin, deserves a medal for the corridor fight at the home of a dangerous Russian mobster. She took on about a dozen or more armed men all on her own, starting off using an envelope slicer, advancing to any weapon she could get her hands on, taking all of them down before she was hit from behind by the Russian mobster. Thanks to a diversion by her team members she was able to escape, leaping out of a glass window, then she got on a motorcycle driven by Captain Reynolds and shot her way off the property. That was one hell of an action scene; and it was incredible to watch her in action.

Ange is the Girl from Oz who travelled the States. Teen dramas, rom-comedies and superhero shows are her weakness. She also loves a good crime and medical drama and probably watches more TV than she can handle... You can contact her at ange@nicegirlstv.com.
