Did You Know: TV and Movie Trivia

Charles

As I’ve mentioned before, collecting entertainment trivia has been my favorite hobby of mine since I was a teenager. Over the course of the last few months, I have been compiling “Did You Know” trivia items to share with our readers.

Here are more trivia tidbits from the worlds of TV and movies. I would love to know if any of our readers knew about any of the items below:

COMMERCIAL APPEAL

Actor Charles Esten, from the long-running series Nashville that first aired on ABC but now airs on CMT, has gone “undercover,” playing Carl Hardee Sr. in several comedic commercials for Carl’s Jr. and Hardees.

Check out some of them below:

Jane the Virgin fans might recognize young actor Joseph Sanders, who played little Mateo in the series, in the latest commercial for Jif Peanut Butter entitled “One for Charlie.”

Check it out below:

Alicia

Swedish actress and Oscar winner Alicia Vikander – who has appeared in films like The Danish Girl, Jason Bourne, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Ex Machina; and who will soon take over the role of Lara Croft in the latest big screen version of Tomb Raider – is now doing over voice over commercials for American Express.

You can see that commercial below:

Did You Know…

Actor Dylan Sprayberry, who has played Liam Dunbar on the MTV thriller series Teen Wolf since 2014, played the 13-year-old version of Clark Kent in the box office film Man of Steel that starred Henry Cavill in the lead role. The ironic part about this is that in a recent episode of Teen Wolf Dylan’s character Liam was told by two of his high school buddies to “be like Clark Kent” [when he needed to hide his werewolf side from enemies in Beacon Hills].

You can see the clip from that episode of Teen Wolf below:

And, you can watch Dylan as Clark Kent in a scene from Man of Steel below:

Michael

Actor Michael Landes, who is the star of the summer adventure series Hooten and the Lady that aired on The CW, was the original Jimmy Olsen in the long-running ABC hit series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

MOVIE TRIVIA

Did You Know…

Chadwick

Actor Chadwick Boseman has starred in some pretty big movies focusing on well-known men: Jackie Robinson in “42” and James Brown in “Get on Up”. And he will soon be seen as Thurgood Marshall in the upcoming box office movie “Marshall” as well as taking the lead as T’Challa aka Black Panther in the upcoming Marvel movies “Black Panther” and “Avengers: Infinity War.” But did you know that Chadwick’s first big break on TV was in the acclaimed ABC Family (now Freeform) TV series Lincoln Heights that starred Russell Hornsby (who went on to star in Grimm).

Did you know about any of the above trivia?
