CONVICTION: Rough Day on the Job {Recap}
Conviction make the audience question a few opinions during the course of the episode tonight: what do we all think of the death penalty?
Hayes (Hayley Atwell) is confronted with a tough case when Connor Wallace (Eddie Cahill) brings a case for the CIU, even if they don’t have a direct link: one of his old attorney friend’s convicted killer is due to die by the death penalty in five days.
Hayes and Conner head to Indiana to find out more about the case of the week, but the crux of the episode is on who believes of doesn’t believe in the death penalty and also how far the CIU team is willing to go to protect an innocent person in jail.
The US Attorney who convicted the death row inmate is behind the original killing, which to two attorneys like Conner and Hayes is unquestionable. Their job is always protecting the innocent, not framing an innocent man to keep a perfect conviction rate.
Just as the CIU figures out the truth of the US Attorney is the news too late; the inmate has just been killed. Perhaps in a small silver lining, the US Attorney is going to be jailed for setting up the man he had killed.
Is that justice just too late?
The smaller case in the episode is how both Maxine (Merrin Dungey) and Sam (Shawn Ashmore) are recovering from that doorman who completed suicide in front of them. Maxine has been popping pill since, and finally Sam catches her in the act. What will they do now to keep her back on track?
Conviction changes dates and will air on Sundays at 10PM/9PM Central on ABC starting January 1st.
