INTERVIEW: Ashley Gerasimovich
We had the chance to interview Ashley Gerasimovich who plays Delilah on The Detour. Born in New York in 2004 she has already been in an impressive amount of films and TV shows. From Fair Game with Naomi Watts to Louie with Louis C.K.
You can catch Ashley Gerasimovich on The Detour on TBS Monday nights at 9/8c
Q. What do you like best about Delilah?
I like how Delilah is kind of a challenge to slip into, and I enjoy putting my acting skills to the test. It’s also a lot of fun playing her because she is sassy and sarcastic, and I don’t really get to act like that in my house.
Q. You have done some pretty action packed movies as well as great comedy shows – What do you like best about each genre?
I like how comedies are really upbeat and happy, and there’s not a moment we are not laughing (except when we are filming). Action movies and dramas have a lot of deep emotions that I get to tap into that I normally don’t. I really enjoy both genres.
Q. You started acting at a young age – Is it always something you wanted to do?
I knew after my first movie, when I was 5 years old, that I wanted to continue acting. The cast and crew were all really nice, and I liked pretending to be someone else. I’ve had so much fun along the way filming movies and TV shows and hope it continues forever!
Q. The Detour is filled with so many funny people. How do you manage to stay in character? Who breaks character most?
Yes, The Detour is jam-packed with so many funny people, but it’s actually easier than you think to stay in character. I just look at it from Delilah’s perspective. It’s really annoying for her, but hilarious for everyone who is watching!
Q. What is your favorite fan interaction?
When I was out to dinner with my family, a couple from another table asked me if I was on The Detour and told us how much they love the show. It was really sweet!
