DVD Review: Love Finds You in Valentine
Back on Valentine’s Day, the faith-based UP Channel aired a new movie in their “Love Finds You” franchise of films entitled Love Finds You in Valentine.
The film stars Michaela McManus (One Tree Hill and Aquarius), as law student Kennedy Blaine, who – after the passing of her father – inherited a ranch in the small town of Valentine, Nebraska. As it turns out, Valentine is where he star-crossed parents met and fell in love; it’s also the small town they ran away from because Kennedy’s estranged grandfather did not approve of her parents’ relationship.
Kennedy travels to Valentine to take stock of the property with the sole goal of selling the property – that is until she experiences the beauty of the small town and the ranch not to mention the ranch manger Derek Sterling (Diogo Morgado from The Messengers and The Bible mini-series).
As the film plays out – without giving too much away – Kennedy meets her curmudgeonly grandfather, she also learns that the ranch is in much better financial straits than she was led to believe, and she learns a lot about Derek’s past, which comes back to haunt both of them.
The film also stars veteran actress Lindsay Wagner (of Bionic Woman fame) as Derek’s adoptive mother June and veteran actor Ed Asner (of The Mary Tyler Moore Show fame) as Kennedy’s estranged grandfather Gabriel Morgan.
If you are looking for a touching, family friendly film filled with just the right amount of romance, beautiful scenery and even a little bit of intrigue, then look no further than this sweet made-for-TV film that you will want to watch over and over again.
“Sometimes you don’t know what’s missing until you find it.”
