Good Witch Recap: “Truth”

By  |

Accepting the truth was the focus of last night’s episode of Good Witch on the Hallmark Channel last night. Facing the truth was never more apparent for Abigail, Cassie’s cousin; Martha, Stephanie and Tara.

For Abigail she was intent on getting Greg, the local schoolteacher and brother of Cassie’s former B&B guest, to ask her out because she thought he was perfect for her. Cassie kept warning her that she might not like what she got out; and that couldn’t have been truer. While Greg may be good looking, Abigail learned very quickly that he is narcissistic, leading her to want to fake a headache to get out of their date. She should’ve listened to her cousin.

For Tara, she thought her new friend Donna and her husband were “perfect” and that somehow she had failed in her life. Despite reassurances from her husband Brandon, Tara wasn’t convinced until she witnessed problems in the other couple’s home life that made her realize that just because something looks perfect, that doesn’t mean that it is.

For Martha, she finally learned the truth that her husband Tom had planned a wonderful 30th Anniversary celebration for their marriage – albeit with a big assist from Cassie – and, again with Cassie’ assistance – Martha got her husband just the right gift to celebration their big day.

For Stephanie, she realized that her boyfriend Ben was right about her moving forward with her catering business at the recently vacated storefront that he had shown her a short time ago. He had also told her about a friend of his who could be a possible investor for her, but she decided to strike out on her own. Good for her!

Elsewhere in the story, we had the lingering storylines of Nick wanting to go London for a semester abroad; Cassie dealing with budding relationships with both Sam and John (even though she has repeatedly told both men that she is just not ready for that) and Sam being offered the Chief of Staff position at the nearby hospital.

While those storylines have not come to an end just yet, there was quite a bit of development on ach:

• Nick finally wrote his essay on why he wanted to go to London, asking Grace to proofread it for him; and his admitting that he was a little worried about making the trip should things not go well;
• Sam was offered the Chief of Staff job at the hospital after making an unusual diagnosis on Cassie’s latest B&B guest; and the hospital even consented to all of his requests;
• John offered Cassie the field supervisory job on his funded dig in the Maldives; but she was clearly apprehensive mainly because of all her commitments in Middleton (the B&B, the Bell, Book & Candle and, most of all, her daughter Grace.

What do you think Cassie will decide to do? Will she agree to go with John or stay in Middleton? How do you think Sam’s commitment to the hospital, his son and his Middleton practice will balance out? What would you like to see before the show ends in a couple of weeks? Please share your thoughts below.

The next episode of Good Witch will air on the Hallmark Channel on Sunday, June 12 at 9/8c.
