VIDEO! Nice Boy Of The Week: Steven R. McQueen

By  |

Jimmy Borelli may have lost the Battle of the Badges fight in this week’s Chicago Fire, but we still think he and portrayer Steven R. McQueen are pretty great – so much that we’ve picked Steven as our latest Nice Boy of the Week!

Steven joined Chicago Fire this season fighting fires as fresh candidate Jimmy Borelli. Before this, Steven was used to fighting forces of a different kind on screen – the supernatural, on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries, where he played angsty teenager turned vampire hunter Jeremy Gilbert for six seasons. Prior to The Vampire Diaries, Steven guest starred in the final season of Everwood, as well as appearing in episodes of Numb3rs, Without a Trace and CSI: Miami. He has also appeared in the films Piranha 3D and Disney Channel’s Minutemen.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Steven is the son of Chad McQueen and Stacia Rae Robitaille. Steven’s grandfather is the late “King of Cool” Steve McQueen and his grandmother late actress Neile Adams. His stepfather is retired NHL Hall of Famer, Luc Robitaille, which is where the ‘R.’ in Steven’s professional name is derived from.

Steven loves superheroes (which gives him brownie points with this Nice Girl!) and is a hug Batman fan. He has said on many occasions that he would love to play Nightwing some day. Follow Steven on social media and you’ll see how much this guy works out, so we can definitely picture him as a superhero and hope one day his dream comes true. Also on social media, you’ll see the support that Steven not only has for his family and friends and their endeavours, but also the different causes he supports.

We spoke to Steven on the red carpet at last year’s #NBCChicagoDay event and he told us a bit about his charity work, as well as what he thinks makes himself and his character Jimmy nice guys. Watch the video below to see what he said…

Check out Steven in Chicago Fire on Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC.

Ange is the Girl from Oz who travelled the States. Teen dramas, rom-comedies and superhero shows are her weakness. She also loves a good crime and medical drama and probably watches more TV than she can handle... You can contact her at ange@nicegirlstv.com.
