Nice Boy of the Week: Tom Ellis Part 2 – Stacey Speaks
Mel’s Note: This post is a rebuttal companion piece to our Nice Boy of the Week post from last week. Here, Nice Girl Adjacent Stacey tells her (mostly false) version of events leading to our #futurefakehusband feud.
Also, we know that Tom Ellis is an actual person who doesn’t know us from cheese; this is really about three friends having fun teasing each other. And one really nice Brit whose show premieres tonight. #teamfakehusband
What Stacey Says:
Comic Con is a magical time of year. For me, it’s the best because I get to see all my friends who live far away. Specifically Mel. We became friends at Comic Con, and every year we get to spend the week together geeking out.
I’d met Leah on several occasions, but this past year we really became friends. You see, I was staying with Mel and Leah after a debacle with my “Marriott off-site housing” (read my book if you want to know more about that, coming … someday).
Anyway.
So Mel, Leah and I are staying together. We’re having a blast. We love each other. We’re the three best friends that anybody could have.
Until… Tom. Ellis.
I don’t know how we ended up in room 6BCDF. I think it’s exactly what Mel said, a much needed reprieve from the chaos of the con. Plus, I like comic books and was excited for the idea of the Lucifier show. I thought it sounded cool.
Mel may have said something in passing like “Oh yeah, the lead guy is hot. I’m not that into him or anything. He’s all yours if you like him.” [Mel: LIES.] And I was like, “Wow, Mel, you’re such a good friend.” And she was like “I know.” I’m sure Leah can attest to all of the above.
The pilot starts. Guys. This pilot is so much fun. Seriously. And Tom. Ellis. Lucifer.
Perfection. Obtained.
I’m all, “Yes, me and Tom Ellis should get married. We would be perfect together.” And alllllll of a sudden, Mel is like “What no, he’s my #futurefakehusband.” And Leah’s all “Whatever, I gotta go to the press room.”
So, Mel and I go to lunch because I don’t remember why she isn’t covering the press room? Maybe she has another one to go to or something or maybe it’s just that we have free lunch at Tin Fish. Who knows. [Mel: It’s because we were going to meet the Game of Thrones cast. YOU WERE THERE.] So Mel & I are at lunch and all of a sudden we get a text. From Leah. In the press room.
And now Leah’s all “Hey guys, check out my #futurefakehusband.”
This is an argument that will continue for months.
Butttt… The moral of the story here guys, is that I’m the only one who recognizes there is no “fake”. It’s #futurehusband. Cause our love is real. I’m like 85% sure he saw me in that crowded comic con panel room and thought the same thing.
Also, friends don’t let friends go to the press rooms of their future husbands because friends will then try to steal future husband. [Mel: *glares at Leah*]
Lucifer premieres tonight, January 25, at 8/7c on FOX. Just remember, Tom Ellis is spoken for.
